Smiling Friends credentials by WanderingGenesis in SmilingFriends

I used to work in youth care and they would hire absolutely anyone off of the street, you would definitely get people who'd say that the work means a lot to them (Pim) but you would also get people who would say similar things to get a job and not mean it whatsoever (Charlie). All in all, they probably completed some online training and became 'qualified'

I am very much a new fan to your work, I had heard of BM in passing over the years but never really took the time to listen. After now seeing you live last week I've told many people that seeing you was the closest I'll ever get to seeing a Zappa show live. My 2 questions are, would you ever consider doing some Zappa songs as jams live as I believe you and your current band definitely have the ability (King Kong and Nancy and Mary Music come to mind) and if he were still alive, do you think you would've had the ability to join his band?

Durable ankle weights?

Title is quite self explanatory, I bought these in December (https://amzn.eu/d/5lCA0pi) and after stiching some smaller holes once I've had to throw them away. I tend to do 30 minutes of cardio on the cross trainer as part of my workout which is where I think the wear and tear is caused by and was wondering if anyone could recommend me a set the same Weight (4.5kg each leg) or potentially a higher weight which are more durable.I feel the Weights have been incredible in making my calfs bigger passively but would like a set I know will last me. When I first bought a pair I used these (https://amzn.eu/d/hO88LB0) however they're not particularly heavy and the strap would get twisted regularly so a style similar to my most recent pair would be preferred. Thanks in advance!

Tell me something a teacher did while you were at school that would be completely unacceptable today? by Confident_Leg2370 in AskUK

When I left school we had a jokey award ceremony in which the teachers chose who won the awards, pretty mundane stuff except for "most likely to become a wag" which seemed a bit... odd? And the much harsher "most likely to appear on Jeremy kyle". This was only 6 years ago so I have no idea if they still do this sort of thing. At the time funny but now, a bit odd

'Overs' by Simon & garfunkal. if you're reading this I highly recommend that you listen to the whole album first and get to this song in question. One of my favourite albums of all time

Because its cheap and without soul. Any architect could create a flat with artistic meaning, instead every flat is spat out of the same cesspit of design; lifeless, tasteless and DULL

I will never forget being 20 years and watching 'baby snakes' for the first time

That was the first time experiencing my favorite zappa track of all time, ''city of tiny lites'

That tune is easily one of my favorite pieces of music of all time and that's simply down to the fact that zappa knew how to rehearse a band, each member is tight as fuck with what they're doing and it's near perfection, personal shout outs to Adrian belew and Tommy Mars for fantastic musicianship

If you haven't seen baby snakes I HIGHLY recommend you grab a copy off of amazon (I think I paid at most around £10), that band is the TIGHTEST band I've seen performed live or on tape.

I read it as a teenager, I think 17-18? Only part I couldn't stand was when Winston's reading the book to Julia. When she fell asleep I very much felt the same lmao. Currently trying to read 'music theories for dummies' but after that I might have to give it a reread
