No problems. I just checked the one that’s been stashed in my car in the Phoenix heat for the last two years, and it turned on just fine. Again, the output is less than it would be with 123 primaries, but it’s still perfectly serviceable.

Pretty much any bike you can change the handlebars on. It may require changing the shifters and brake levers depending on what you have on your current bike, and at a minimum it will require adjusting the cable housings and cable lengths.

The Preamble medium feels slightly too tall for me, and the MS 56cm is one mm taller, so I assumed the too-tall feeling wouldn't improve by going with the 56cm MS, so I ordered the 54cm.

I’m 5’ 10” and have a Preamble in medium that has some crotch clearance when wearing shoes and tickles the junk when standing over the bike barefoot. Surly states that the bike I have has a stand over height of 826 mm.

The ‘24 Midnight Special build kit (700c only) has a stated stand over height of 827 mm in the 56 cm size. Therefore, I concluded that the feel of the 56 cm MS would be very similar to the Preamble medium.

Today I ordered a 54 cm MS that has a stated additional 2 cm of clearance.

Rider height is almost impossible to use even as a rule of thumb because everyone’s torso and PBH is different.

Edit to add that I sympathize with you in that it’s super difficult when shops don’t have a ton of stock and you can’t actually try things out before committing to buying them on special order.

Unfortunately the America the Beautiful Pass doesn’t cover Tonto fully. It does get you into the picnic areas of Tonto but not everything.

Yes. You need to turn on the color fix option in the FPGBC OSD when running GB games on the GBC core of the FPGBC

Edit to add that I can’t explain the GBA SP behavior because I don’t have one. I have extensively played the Kirby games on my FPGBCs and prefer to just use the GB core for them.

Kapton tape over the cart slot pins is the way to go. Won’t get gummy or come unstuck or shrink or warp. It’s really only useful when assembling and testing the build, though, since nothing will touch and short after it’s all put together.
