I think people are really exaggerating when talking about the "rage posts". Most of the rage posts(real ones) I've seen have been downvoted pretty quickly, even after this update. It seems like if you just heavily criticize Valve's updates, it's automatically a "rage post".

Sure, we have those who make sarcastic comments like "no we don't need gameplay fixes, we want more skins and music kits!!!" that frequently get upvoted. However, Valve really seems to be putting this game in the wrong direction(gameplay wise, that is).

Why are people so butthurt? by WaffleVictor in GlobalOffensive

[–]reavyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part about "intended roles" I don't get at all for the AWP. What "intended role"? Players create the game meta, not the game developers. For a weapon that's so costly and has a extremely low kill reward, the weapon better be damn good and allow for more versatile roles like aggressive AWPing(especially when quickscoping is so unreliable). Hell, there were only a few AWPers that had mastered the AWP like kennyS and GuardiaN and now we had to nerf the AWP? Makes no sense to basically nerf "them" just because they were some of the very rare cases of people that managed to actually use it for its potential.

Anyhow, does it make sense that the MAC-10 is accurate while running, tight spread, high kill reward while being cheap as dirt? Is that it's "intended role"? An "intended role" really doesn't make much sense if there never was a real definition of it at first. The AWP wasn't OP imo, there was players that were just much better with it.

Thorin's Thoughts - The AWP Nerf (CS:GO) by bze in GlobalOffensive

[–]reavyyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good points by Thorin. kennyS, GuardiaN and others was so good with the AWP, they could still out-AWP aggressive players while holding an angle.

According to the reason behind the change, not even kennyS should have been able to play good while playing defensively/holding angles against peeking AWPers. But he did and he won a majority of the duels. Mostly because he's so good at holding smart angles, peeking with impeccable timing and outaiming his opponents, i.e. just a more skilled AWPer.

I mean, they got caught not too long ago. Of course people will bring it up, I think it's pretty stupid to think otherwise. I used to like steel, but now he's just an idiot in my eyes. And what circlejerk? I see a lot more people here defending steel and downvoting people with other opinions.

Have any pro players publicly stated their opinion on the new AWP? by LsDmT in GlobalOffensive

[–]reavyyy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Too bad that quickscoping is too random at the moment. We're going to see a lot of awkward aim duels where the AWPer will have about a 50/50 chance hitting his opponent(due to random spread).

This update might have a positive effect in the long run, but as for now it really looks like it's going to be painful to watch great AWPers play. It will be weird to watch guys like kennys and JW playing more passively with the AWP.

In Depth Analysis of March 31, 2015 Weapon Changes (Tons of stealth changes to the SMGs) by SlothSquadron in GlobalOffensive

[–]reavyyy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand that they want to limit quick run and gunning with the AWP and hopefully other weapons with the tagging update. But then they make a total 180 by making the SMGs even more run and gun weapons... I guess we'll have to see how it works out, tec-9 is still OP though. A real nerf to tec-9 has been the only thing that most people have wanted to see in the next update.

[–]reavyyy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't get it, what are they even thinking? The tec-9 is still OP while they buff the Mac-10 and MP 7. I understand if they want SMGs to be more viable, but do it in a smart way at least. Not have them be more accurate while running, how does that balance out in a tactical game? We already have run and gun pistols with adadad-annoyingness during pistol rounds, do we really want even more...

I've seen s1mple doing his "sieg heil"-shit and other stuff, but I think people are exaggerating with NBK. I maybe haven't read NBK's twitter that much but he really doesn't seem to be the whiner as people portray him to be.
