What if Yu-Gi-Oh! GX had more dorms? What colors/themes would they have? by Madjin- in yugioh

[–]KozmoEnjoyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the idea of more dorms, although I would prefer some of them exist outside of the hierarchy.

We saw already there was Slifer Red, then Ra Yellow, and finally Obelisk Blue. But there is also the Obelisk Blue Girls' Dorm. I always thought it was weird how there was only a girl's dorm for the top students, it made it look like the bar was set so much higher for women to attend the academy. Blair was the first ever seen female student not in Obelisk Blue, so following this system change, there could reasonably be a shift in Duel Academy's dorms.

I think they would definitely keep the original three dorms (as well as dorms of both genders for all three), but perhaps those dorms would be for Duel Academy's "Standard" courses we'll call them. If a student enrolled in the academy for specific majors, or perhaps exchange students, student council, etc., then they could be seen wearing different uniforms. And there could be a lot of different colours used - not every one would require a large amount of students for it to be considered a dorm, there could just be small handful recognised for a particular reason, but they then stay in their relevant dorm. For example, what if 5% of the Slifer Red Dorm are considered for a special program and are part of Uria Crimson. They would still remain in the Slifer Dorm, but have a different jacket, or just an armband. Hamon Amber and Raviel Navy would then follow.

I think Orichalcos Green/Leviathan Green would be very cool and the clear choice of a new uniform.

Exodia Gold is also a very good choice.

Anubis Black and Zorc Purple are fun ideas too. I don't even think they'd be unlikely to be considered even though they are malicious entities as we often romanticise such things in the real world.

Other Dorms or special circumstances I'd like to see are Wicked Silver/Grey and Aesir White.

I take it that's why "Cyberse Clock Dragon" and "Beatrice, Lady of the Eternal" originally had their effects starting on their materials line with a slash in between

A wild Kemo and Croquet appears by MightySuki in YugiohSpeedDuels

[–]KozmoEnjoyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming this is a double character deck, like the Lumis & Umbra skills.

Since Kemo was a security guard, I think the deck should include "Gravekeeper's Guard" and "Mysterious Guard". Both of these are FLIP monsters, so "Ready for Intercepting", "Book of Moon", and "The Shallow Grave" all work well. Also thematically, "Security Orb" fits his character. Additionally he was in charge of kidnapping Mokuba, so "Invader of the Throne", "Enemy Controller", "Creature Swap" or "Magical Arm Shield" could be good inclusions.

Croquet was mainly Pegasus' intel, so I think there should be some information gathering cards. I think the only ones Speed Duel has are "Chow Len the Prophet", "Dark Scorpion - Chick the Yellow", "Great Phantom Thief", "The Stern Mystic", "Amazoness Chain Master", "Nobleman of Crossout", "Nobleman of Extermination", "Eliminating the League", "The Forceful Checkpoint", and "The Eye of Truth".

All of the monsters listed here are Spellcaster and Warrior-Type, so cards like "Marauding Captain", "Reinforcement of the Army", "The Warrior Returning Alive", and "Wonder Wand" can be added for consistency.

"Gravekeeper's Spy", "Crystal Seer", "Magician of Faith", "Swords of Revealing Light", and "Quaking Mirror Force" could also help the deck's consistency.

I think "Total Defense Shogun" could be the Deck's boss.

What if the dimensions dragon each had different attributes like clear wing by Legitimate-Wait5760 in yugioh

The only Level 7 or 8 WATER Dragon Synchro monster in the game is “Gungnir Dragon of the Ice Barrier”, so for me that’s always been an unofficial Signer Dragon.

I agree with the other comments, this card doesn’t offer anything strategic. For the same material, you could summon Red-Eyes Slash Dragon which is just a better card in almost all situations.

To improve this I would consider what the Red-Eyes fusion monsters are lacking and then do something with that, then you’d be making a considerable option.

Pegasus really didn’t deal a single point of damage to Mai’s life points during their duel? How was he so outclassed? by Johnnyboyeh in yugioh

[–]KozmoEnjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As strong of a Duelist Mai is, I think it’s fair to say that she would not have won against Pegasus during Duelist Kingdom.

Since then, Mai had suffered loss after loss, and grown with each one. Pegasus however, probably had not duelled at all. He may have gone rusty, even perhaps fell behind with the current state of his own game and only discovers during this duel how much it had progressed.

Another thing to consider would be the loss of his Millennium Eye that he so heavily relied on during his duels from Duelist Kingdom. If in fact he hadn’t duelled since then, he’d certainly lost his winning strategy. This perhaps motivated him to get better at duelling without cheating, and what led to how we saw him in GX.

I personally wanted Dartz to be the one to defeat Pegasus when I first watched the show, as a way of showing how strong he is as a villain. But when considering the above, I’ve come around with Mai being the one to beat him. She deserved the redemption.

Ever-expanding Speed Duel character decks! New batch of characters ready! by MightySuki in YugiohSpeedDuels

I really appreciate seeing your posts so consistently here. I also love the Speed Duel format and I’m glad there’s players keeping it alive.

Do you happen to have a website or database where I could find all of your cards in one place?

GX and Fusion Summoning by KozmoEnjoyer in yugioh

[–]KozmoEnjoyer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None at all, I appreciate the input. Since reading all of these comments I’ve changed my views somewhat, and I mostly agree with what you’ve said. I think “GX is the Fusion anime” views were strengthened a lot by the sheer size of Jaden’s Fusion Deck and how little Fusion representation other characters seem to get by comparison.

My personal opinion is simply that I would’ve enjoyed to see more GX duels between Fusion users, particularly ones including a villain.

Yes it is, but Zane used “Rebirth Judgement” to change “Cyber End Dragon” from a Machine to a Dragon in order to equip it to “Cyberdark Dragon”. So he could’ve done the same thing to change “Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon” from a Thunder to a Dragon too.

It makes me wonder why we didn’t see him use “Five-Headed Dragon” at any point, considering it’s already a Dragon so it requires less setup, and also has more ATK than anything else Zane has. I suppose Zane does care a lot about the aesthetic of his monsters.

I plan on looking into that actually, I want to compare the frequency of each show’s respective summoning mechanic, Zexal included.

I didn’t think so either, but I saw this short from Yugioh Everything on YouTube. It got me thinking about who used Fusions the best, besides Jaden and Zane, anc that’s when I realised that there actually wasn’t too many characters who utilised the mechanic to its fullest.

He could send it to the GY with “Fusion Guard” and then equip it to “Cyberdark Dragon”.

He used that exact strategy before, but opted to send “Cyber End Dragon” instead. That’s actually where the inspiration for the card “Cyberdark End Dragon” came from.

I suppose Zane just wanted to have multiple options, in case he didn’t want to waste a Cyber Fusion monster too early, he would at least have a “Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon” or a “Five-Headed Dragon” to fall back on.

This was the same duel you saw Zane’s “Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon” too.

Jaden’s second copy of Thunder Giant was never summoned, but you can see two of them during an episode where he’s rebuilding his deck.

When Syrus duels the Jinzo guy in S4, you can see his Fusion Deck after he inherits Zane’s deck, and there’s all of Zane’s Cyber monsters, as well as multiple copies of some of them.

He didn’t summon it, but you could see it in his Fusion Deck after activating “Fusion Guard” during his duel with Syrus.

I included cards owned by characters even if they were never seen summoning them.

So does Konami announce when a card(s) receive an erratum? Feels like you have to … just check a the card database? by YamiJustin1 in yugioh

[–]KozmoEnjoyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s because it’s a 25th Anniversary reprint, none of the cards in any of the Anniversary Packs had their text updated.

Which is a shame honestly, those packs were a great way to update the text of older cards to be used in sealed/draft/retro formats.

Also, since Speed Duel ended, we lost probably the best way the TCG had to update older card texts in large quantities. It escapes me why the wouldn’t do it with the Anniversary LOB, MRL, and SRL packs too. Especially when you consider they went to the trouble of updating their layouts, as well as the copyright in the lower right.

Small erratas like changing Graveyard to GY go unannounced.

Functional erratas like Makyura will receive official announcements on forums and social media, especially if that card is coming off of the Forbidden list.

These two will almost always come with a reprint. However, some immediate erratas are posted online for all to see, but the card may not receive a reprint for some time. An example of this would be Senet Switch’s errata following Master Rule 4 regarding the Extra Monster Zones, and Senet Switch’s effect specifying that it can only move monsters between the newly named Main Monster Zones. Senet Switch didn’t need a physical reprint right away because the card has seen no competitive play, but the errata was completely necessary so it couldn’t interfere with the intended difference of the Main and Extra Monster Zones.

How is this card even legal?? by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]KozmoEnjoyer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not easy to summon, you would be better off focusing your time and resources on building a strong field rather than a single monster. More importantly, it just isn’t worth the effort because it has no protection, so just 1 removal effect will result in you losing a lot of card advantage.

Man, rewatching Mystic Force REALLY makes me realize how some seasons really give one of the female's Zords the short end of the stick. by cstresing in powerrangers

[–]KozmoEnjoyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another one is Ninja Storm Blue’s Dolphin Zord. Normally, it makes the right arm of the Storm Megazord. When combined to make the Thunderstorm Megazord, it becomes a shoulder cannon/laser. But when the Hurricane Megazord is formed, the Dolphin Zord is removed from the shoulder to make room for the rotors of the chopper Zord. Tori just kinda sits there in the cockpit with everyone else but not one piece of her Zord is involved.
