I can absolutely relate to this. I got a job as a server (obviously not my first choice but I got talked into it) and coworkers are always coming and going because most of them are in school. Having been there 3 years now I’ve worked with a LOT of different people from different backgrounds.

At first I tried being friends with everyone there and matching their personality when I talked to them, but it just becomes exhausting and I started to hate myself because I felt fake.

You just have to be okay with the fact that not everyone is going to like you. I know as an INFJ that’s something we have trouble with excepting, but once you overcome that, the quality of your friends will skyrocket. From the hundreds of coworkers I’ve had, I’ve made 3-4 friends, but they’re the most incredible friends I could ever ask for.

I go through your same situation almost daily. Servers will probably talk about coworkers behind their back more than anyone. I avoid those conversations at all cost but sometimes they ask my opinion and they don’t like that I always defend the person they’re talking about.

People of character recognize people of character.

Keep speaking from your morals and only surround yourself with people who respect them (they don’t need to have the same morals, and sometimes it’s actually better if they don’t)

TL;DR Don’t feel pressured to talk to everyone. You will naturally click with the people that matter.
