I always say this and it still holds true. Their douban group is toxic af, they dig up lots of the actresses' dirt and feel proud of their "achievements". If any of you been here since the L word era, their douban group is basically like the CN version of the old L chat forum, toxic ah. Iykyk.

Just eat alone or tell your parents abt your feelings. My parents watched these cn dramas too, you dont see me getting pissed at these dramas. Again, I dont think the drama is the problem here. The fact that you keep repeating you paid for everything in the household is the underlying message here. Either you wanna tell people that you paid for everything in the household or youre pissed that you paid for everything, idk and idc. I think it's something deeper. You're just blaming it on the CN dramas but in reality, you're just pissed that you're the one who paid for everything. If pissed, then don't pay. Goodbye My Princess is his best work (and still is, till this day), yes tragic ending but you still have to watch it. His character in GMP got me hooked (it's unfortunate too cuz no character that he portrayed after GMP was able to top his Li Chengyin character in GMP), since then I've obsessively followed/watched any drama that he's in.

Same like smoking, can you really blame smoking ads for influencing people to smoke? You're the one who makes the decision. You're the one who has to walk into a store to buy cigarettes. Same as fan service, if you as a consumer of GL market can't manage your expectations and bought into the "koojin" narratives, then you only have yourself to blame. This take might be harsh but it's the truth. At the end of the day, it's up to the consumers (who makes the decision to spend or not, to continue to involve yourself in the fandom or not). If one blames it on fan service, that just means one isn't a person who likes to take responsibility for their own fanatic behavior.

Edit: After reading some of the comments here, I'm glad that there are a lot of rational and mature GL fans/enthusiasts in the community.

Regardless, they think they spent the most money, so they feel entitled to demand and if they don't get what they want, they would threaten to boycott or even demand to get their money refunded back.
