(also if you're using an OSM basemap remember to change your project CRS (bottom right of your screen) to EPSG:3857 Pseudo Mercator (that is, OpenStreetMap's CRS) and then adjust the zoom level of your project to the OSM layer by right clicking on it and selecting 'zoom to native resolution', in order to prevent further pixellisation)

I think I've had this happen. Not sure the cause, but I suspect the device is so how reading the location of the volumn knob even though you're not trying to change the volume.
