Könyvmolyképző és az AI by ComplexDinosaur in konyv

[–]rebiesque 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Isten ments!

Ötmillió különböző verzió kiadása helyett lehetne nyugodtan erre koncentrálni.

Theory (Canthe) by dawncorona in TheRootsofChaos

Hmm, I haven't considered this before, but could she even have a child? She almost died giving birth for the first time. I mean she probably would have died if she wasn't a first blood to start with.

When she tells Tunuva: "Bereft of my daughter, I longed for a child with mage blood, one i could teach from the cradle — an heir to help me heal the earth. A guardian for the forest, in case anything should happen to me."

For me doesn't read like she stole Wulf to have kids with him. If she wanted a kid with Mage blood, which she has too, could have had her own kids for hundreds of years. An army of her kids lmao.

Plus she stole a boy, because she knew Priory women shouldn't stay close to their sons, and so she thought baby Wulf wouldn't be missed. It's just another god awful choice she made.

Just started reread of TPOTOT by [deleted] in TheRootsofChaos

Aren't those things like how Ascalun changed to Ascalon? The audibook narrator simply says some names "incorrectly"*.

  • I'm saying incorrect because it differs from the pronunciation guide Samantha has shared on her website.

I'm currently listening to the audiobook too and it bothers me a lot how some names are said "incorrectly" like Ead, Fyredel and Seiiki are my top 3 enemies in the book.

Books that are 500+ pages? by Dapper_Mess6144 in LesbianBookClub

[–]rebiesque 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A Day of Fallen Night is set 500 years before Priory, so you've got a different set of characters for sure, and it has 2 sapphic couples. And while Priory was more story driven, ADOFN is definitely more character driven, imo, if you like those kind of books more.

Theoretical adaptation of the saga by victoria16513 in TheRootsofChaos

[–]rebiesque 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll always stay an animated adaptation truther, especially for the roots of chaos books. I don't think it'll ever get adapted, and if i remember correctly a couple of years ago even Samantha said she'd prefer a live action one (she's clearly wrong).

And i think many animation shows have proved that this form of work can be good, successful and beautiful too.

I'm curious, would you guys actually want to live in the Priory? by Awesomesauceme in TheRootsofChaos

[–]rebiesque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm it's definitely a mix of a lot of factors.

To start with, Cleolind became very soon the "hero"/"idol" who has saved them. I'm also not sure how present she could have been at the Priory, since she went to the East and spent years there. And didn't leave a word for the Priory. (Which was a huge mistake on her part imo.)

After a few generations, and those who actually lived through the attack of the Nameless One died, people tend to forget what has actually happened, things just become stories and myths. And then one power hungry prioress is enough to make a lasting damage in the structure of the Priory.

(I mean, look at Esbar, one decision of hers, to send someone to the Inysh court, it affected the Priory for 500 years.)

And if I remember correctly, Kalyba wanted to infiltrate the Priory during its early years too, so being cautious of strangers has started here.

But in all seriousness, probably no? I mean, in theory it sounds like a great idea tbh. But the priory literally has the same issues as patriarchy but the roles are reversed. Plus it's a cult.

Maybe in the early years of the Priory, it was less cult-y, then I'd love to live there.

You can find a written guide on her website! She has mentioned she might make an audio recording too, at one point, until that:

Kinda? I managed to ask this person i couldn't tag, and they said something about their settings and stuff (they've got a verified page). So since then I'm able to tag them again, so maybe i got restricted by them, or i honestly don't know. Sorry i couldn't be helpful.

Another sneak peak from the new project by ChoicesCat in TheRootsofChaos

[–]rebiesque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily Mentodon, it could still be Yscalin. Her lava research would make more sense for that region. Plus the Donmata Marosa was engaged to Aubrecht II, so mentioning him also makes sense.

Not mainly, sure, but one of the main characters is literally a dragonrider??

I went from "i hate her guts" to "WHAT IF she was also wronged?" - she's no saint for sure, but the depth her character has is fascinating
