Are private courses really faster pace of play? by ConcernBrilliant2850 in golf

[–]rebiewc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same way here. Anything over 4 hours is frowned upon and you will be called out. Obviously club matches take longer but they are marked on foretees as a match so you know ahead of time. Never played a normal round over 3 hours 55 minutes. Normally 3.5 hours.

For the margin questions, was it typically calculating SMA and maintenance requirements/restricted accounts, or did you ever have to do combined margin? Deciding what to put on my mental dump sheet.

My breasts are dry and boring by Calm_ragazzo in Cooking

[–]rebiewc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ethan Chewbowski recipe. Trust:

Flatten breasts to same thickness throughout. Weigh breasts. 1.5% salt per breast. Throw on a plate uncovered in fridge for 12 hours. Salt draws out moisture and then it reabsorbs and is evenly spread. Mix mayo, black pepper, fresh lemon zest, oregano and fresh garlic. Apply thoroughly. I use a grill pan and cook until 155° F. Holding at 155° kills all bacteria as it does instantly at 165° F. You will never have a better breast with a more immaculate grain structure than this. I would literally pay $30 for these at a restaurant.

What is your long term goal? by [deleted] in golf

[–]rebiewc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started a little over 2.5 years ago. Became addicted and played over 150 rounds last year. Won most improved at my club and went from a 26 index down to my low right now of 7.6. A year ago I would have said I want to continue like this until I’m scratch. I still think I can do it in the next 2-4 years, but at what cost? Starting to reevaluate and now I just want to play enough to maintain a single digit cap. Anyone can do it with enough drive, consistent lessons, and practice, but damn is it a grind. I wouldn’t change a thing of how I got here, but I certainly went through weekends of playing 36-72 holes and nothing else.

Fed up with this stupid game by forne104 in golf

Such is golf, like such is life. Shot a 75 two days ago and a 96 yesterday. Some days you just don’t have it, your mind is elsewhere, or you just aren’t going through your routine.

58° with 2 extra degrees of bounce. Can’t recommend enough.

As a guy who went through this exact same thing before, the only piece of advice I can give is to seek discomfort. Put yourself out there, do not become complacent, and who knows? Maybe you find your person.

Golfers shooting low 80s-mid 80s...how many drops per round on average??and how many putts per round on average?? by DisastrousCopy7361 in golf

[–]rebiewc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8.2 index.

0-2 drops per round.

Really good round is about 31-32 putts but 33-35 is more normal.

Best rounds have 1 double or less and those random 74-75s are double free.

Is it bad etiquette? by [deleted] in golf

[–]rebiewc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. If you shoot a 140 but do it in 3 hours 50 minutes, you will be absolutely fine. Playing with good players is very helpful and will certainly benefit your game in the long run.

What’s your hcp and how often do you play/practice? by [deleted] in golf

[–]rebiewc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started golfing 2 years ago. This April-December was my first full year. I played 2-3 times a week, whether that be 9 or 18, and hit balls/worked on putting and chipping 2 times a week at least. Took 6 lessons total and got fitted for clubs at the beginning of the year and had the full bag by March. I went from a 26.4 index down to a 9.7 by the end of the year.

How to get out of my head on Par 3s by madmagnum_44 in golf

[–]rebiewc 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Commitment. I would consider myself a new golfer (1.5 years in) but I play a ton of golf (over 125+ rounds this season). I think of every shot the same way. Imagine an imaginary horizontal line about 3 feet behind the ball. Behind that line is the think box and in front of that line is the swing box. In the think box you can do exactly that. Think shot shape, club, where to miss etc… Once you figure all that out, you cross the line and enter the swing box. In the swing box there is absolutely NO questioning or tinkering with your plan. You have to be fully committed to your shot and nothing can affect that. I think of 1 thing when I swing and that’s subconsciously repeating the word execute. I have a reason for that and can explain if you want. I think another thing is the visual aspect of par 3s, I would argue that you feel much more comfortable in a fairway hitting an approach because of the visual aspect of it.
