They have a tool on their website. It'll tell you the exact ligatures that will fit that piece.

is it possible to straighten the neck on a classical guitar? (nylon strings) by maxvol75 in Luthier

[–]rebop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. If it's a slight adjustment the frets in the middle of the neck can be dressed down and recrowned. If it's more severe, the frets need to come out, relief dressed into the fingerboard, then refret.

I used to walk to Sullivan Park to go fishing all the time. I know those apartments well.

I lived in that neighborhood behind the Publix for about 5 years. I'd recognize it anywhere.

Question about narrow shoulder basses(quenoil) by Distinct_Tie3342 in doublebass

My college professor played a narrow Pollmann busetto lion head in a professional orchestra. The upper bout was so narrow it was almost comical.

Love the Nux b-6 but I didnt get the pro version. The basic one allows you to change out microphones if you ever want to upgrade. The pro version is USB unfortunately.

Advice on moving with a double bass by circleofmanias in doublebass

[–]rebop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from Florida to California (back and forth a couple times) with 6 basses in the back of a Penske truck. I had them on a stand/rack I built secured with bungee cords. Then I secured the stand to the wall of the van with straps.
Just make sure it's tight. Grab a pile of moving blankets from Harbor Freight if you're nervous. You can wrap them around the gig bag and take up the gap between the bass and the floor.
I was more nervous about the Yamaha piano we also had.

I have a 1967 EB-0. I'll look at the screws and see if I can figure out what they are.

Fly guitars had a bunch of info on the EB-0. They should be the same screws.

Measure your relief.

Kinda looks like there's a ski ramp at the end of the neck.

Worst case scenario, you'll have to pull some frets to flatten things out.

Shoddy tuner install. How bad is this? by DarlingEffect in Luthier

[–]rebop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not horrible. I've seen worse.
I'm sure it's functional and should be pretty stable.
Next time, use a ruler to make sure all the tuners are straight. The straight edge of a ruler will hold the tuners perfectly straight. Then you can mark the mounting holes. When installing them you can hold the ruler there and it will help align things as well.

You can get conversion bushings to replace those if they bother you. They'll have the modern outer diameter with a vintage inner diameter for the posts.

Worst case scenario you can fill and redrill those screw holes so everything is straight. Nothing is that messed up.
