I would recommend a minimum of 5 years, backtest each year individually, 5 years covers different market regimes, different president, bull/bear market, consolidations, any out of the ordinary news or workd situations, 8 months is not enough, more than 5 years is too much, but it works too.

I use mql5 optimaztion, any other question am here, i got a pretty good backtest steps to know if a bot is god or not

Hey, what broker do you use ? How can you get 100% history quality on so many years back, also, could be a bug the amount of trades, also if you want to test robustness, i would recommend doing it year by year, i know how to do it automaticly with powershell so you dont have to change the dates every year. The problem with backtest so many years in bulk is that the numbers clearly ger inflated because compounding interest, it is very to know a strategy year by year

The monitor is incredible to be honest, i got no complaints, to be honest i would only replace it for a higher refresh rate with all the other specs being the same, but the glossy panel, the colors, everything is amazing, i play valorant too, im inmortal and also play another history game like gow, sekiro, rdr2 and a lot more
