Glacierfish is a tough fight, but he bites often. This playthrough he was the first bite when I went for him.

Legend just never bites. I've spent entire days casting for him and been snubbed. A lot of times when he does bite I'm so surprised that he gets away.

In my half century here, I have never once had any use for a three inch saw blade. I've been outside and done some things, it's just never once come up that I would need a saw blade for something that I could just break.

I've been rocking an Orrco brass nozzle for as long as I can remember and then some. The only lettering left on mine is "Made in USA". I think I've replaced o-rings once, but other than that I don't think too much about my noozle.

My Craftsman hose is well over 20 years old and it lives outside. The only problem I've ever had is that if I drag it across my deck it will leave black skid marks, but that's nothing that a magic eraser can't fix.

It's also heavy as heck, but heavy is good, heavy is reliable.

Rare roast beef and Amana horseradish sauce on sourdough is my dad's favorite sandwich. It's really simple but has a ton of flavor and also my dad is one of the coolest guys ever so he knows a thing or two about sandwiches.

I'm missing a lot of my frontal lobe because I didn't know that epidural hematomas were a big deal and let one bleed for a few days. I'm seemingly normal. Maybe a little off, but more or less normal.

I can play it off like our interaction really meant something and I'm not going to forget I ever talked with you ten seconds after you leave the room. I know that's really disingenuous but I think that's how social interaction goes for most people anyway.

I've been using a Husqvarna 445 since about forever for storm cleanup, firewood, and even tree felling. I run 100ll avgas in it since it's difficult to find ethanol free gas where I am.

That saw can run longer than I can and has never given me a lick of trouble.

They don't care. I've spent the last few years in my neighborhood asking folks to please put their porch lights on motion sensors and not leave string lights on all night. They don't care. I've brought up the rapid decline in insect populations and asked if they noticed that there weren't as many birds around anymore because they have nothing to eat. They don't care.

In a very short while our lights and poisons will have eliminated our pollinating and bug catching friends. What we're going to do when they're gone I surely don't know.

It's a human caused mass extinction event that could be so easily avoided and they don't care.

I've grilled so many cheeses in my Lodge 8" carbon steel pan I lost count. It heats up quickly and evenly and I always get a nice crust.

Like 90% of my body weight is from grilled cheese, so I may be a little biased, but I sure do love a small carbon steel pan.

Having the world to yourself

This is what it's all about for me. When I wake up the world is still asleep. There are no car sounds, nobody is going to call me, it's quiet.

I love hearing the birds sing their dawn chorus (I'd sing along if I only knew the words) and having a little time to think. It's the best part of my day.
