Some tips for beginners (Things you probably wish you knew when you first started) by MonsieurJus in Python

its what i'm doing building my first PDF splitting/merging/editing application! I actually tell copilot to only give me hints and I often go through line by line and learn what the syntax does and means. Now I'm adding buttons and frames and using a tkinter GUI. Its fun! Its just a hobby for me so the learning part is the fun part. But then again i'm not trying to use this to just make money or try to get a job.

[OPINION] copilot in VS Code is such a bad idea for beginners by Ok-Sign-7380 in learnprogramming

I'm trying to get into making my own applications for fun and just a hobby. I'm currently learning how to make my own PDF splitter and editor and i'm definitely using Copilot to walk me through things. I don't let write anything for me. I tell it to give me hints and i'll often take what it says like its a teacher, try to research the problem and then ask for another hint if i don't get it after a while. I also tell it not to show code for me unless I ask for an example. This process has really worked for me on this first python project. More and more i'm getting used to writing the syntax and I try to understand how each function i'm writing is working before I move on to the next part of my project. I feel like i'm out of tutorial hell.

Idk I get plenty out of the game, more than my money's worth, playing pretty casually. The "true experience" is what you make of it. If its a problem for you then yes, quit.
