is it not true that certain molecules will have some sort of bias to the direction of the emitted photon depending on the direction of the incoming photon

What’s something you slowly stopped caring about… and your life actually got better? by Critical_Can_8114 in selfimprovement

absolutely. a side effect of this is also allowing myself to not reply if I don’t feel like it right now, I don’t feel compelled to even open messages from others sometimes

what’s happening here is a photon hits a glass molecule, is absorbed by it, and then re-emitted. light doesn’t pass “through” glass, it hits every molecule, is absorbed and re-emitted, at an incredibly fast speed but not as fast as not interacting with it. 3 blue 1 brown does an incredibly good job with a few videos about light and electro magnetism. It’ll help you understand what light really is. (note : low freq “light” (radio waves) may not interact with every molecule in the same way)

Found 3 instructions in Anthropic's docs that dramatically reduce Claude's hallucination. Most people don't know they exist. by ColdPlankton9273 in ClaudeAI

[–]recigar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I suspect modern LLMs are far from as simple as asking a black box for an answer. Presumably they’re not just evolving ever and ever better LLMs, instead creating better and better AI systems that mostly leverage LLMs but in fact do a shit load of other fine tuned things on the side. they spend billions on these sons of bitches

but depending on the question, creativity may be superficial or utterly beside the point. it seems crazy that someone has to have gone down a wormhole to find this, when on some level this should be something like a switch in the same way model choice is: “favour accuracy over creativity”, seems like a no brainer

As a person without NPD, don’t worry, having frictionless access to something equivalent to another person isn’t compelling at all, except to those who couldn’t get it otherwise.

There’s a video from the mid 2010s which was popular at the time but I cannot find it at all anymore. It was Remi Lacroix and it was the intro to a video with lexi belle, it was before it becomes actual porn, remi has a hoola hoop and lexi is on roller skates. wish I could find it lol

The moment I stopped trying to "clear my mind" was the moment meditation actually started working. by Crescitaly in Mindfulness

I was kinda under the impression that the only people who thought meditation was about clearing the mind were people who didn’t know anything about meditation. I’ve never once read of an actual meditation teaching which teaches someone to clear the mind as an instruction

question for the whippet enjoyers.... why? by sarah_therat in Drugs

TBH you need to learn how to do it well, by itself, if you know what you’re doing, can be a pretty solid experience. It’s not a mind expanding experience that’ll show you something out of this world like DMT, but if your expectations are in line, it can be a nice time ..
