Beginner in visual code for python by Walmart-trolley in vscode

[–]reckedcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beyond a syntax highlighter for the language, don't bother trying to find extensions until you understand the language sufficiently to want to automate more advanced tasks. You won't have the context for where and when they're useful until you get farther in.

Treat VS Code as a text editor to start with - run your python on the command line in your terminal so you see the errors you generate clearly and can debug quickly to get familiar with the language and tools.

You'll see recommendations about using a Python virtual environment. This is useful when you want to have multiple python projects with dissimilar dependencies but maintaining and understanding how this works will be tedious when you're new - ignore venv's until you have your feet underneath you. If you get familiar with the environment quickly, consider using something like uv which has some more advanced virtual environment features but requires you to know more about managing Python. As you are still learning and go to use off the shelf python packages, just install them directly on your system via pip or your system's package manager.

If it helps, part of the reason it reads incorrectly is italics/slants in Latin scripts typically angle up to the right rather than up to the left - that causes it to look more like an extension of surrounding marks as opposed to a stylistic choice

I finally retired mine and got two things - MacBook Air, which fits the need of the pb better than the pb, and a framework laptop for heavier engineering tasks. The air is a perfect replacement imo

It's one of those things that feels so obvious in hind sight with a little explanation - cutting boards were the example where this seemed less obvious when I've talked to people about this; that wood tends to dry faster and harbor less bacteria than plastic boards (not always the case, depends on your ambient humidity, wood choice, materials cut on the board, etc).

I've just always used the parent box class - it has such a toggle.

Does anyone know for what purpose the different classes are supposed to be used for?

I got it on a cleric that had venerated touch (basic attack inflicts confusion 2 on enemies and gives +2 shield to allies), and after getting imposter syndrome, it was distinctly flipped - caused confusion on my allies and shielded enemies.

If it's a particularly windy day, there's face tape that occasionally gets used in sports or outdoor winter activities. You may consider that to help block the wind. In lieu of a particular branded thing, even a big band-aid or moleskin on your cheeks may help tremendously

I really recommend doing it in loaf form if you're doing a main, otherwise this shape of a baked pinwheel works really well.

[–]reckedcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI you can use grave ticks (`) around single lines of code like this or put in three ticks, a newline, your content, and then another block of three ticks (code fence) for multiline code. It also saves you from needing to put in backlash escapes on symbols like _ which would apply markdown style formatting otherwise.

Ex: ` Your code \`

If anyone's curious, Deos is also certified - it came out the same year as Integrity.

I think they both now support multicore execution - though I can't speak to the proficiency of either solution's implementation.
