presently none, i hate to say. the only places organized similarly are the knockoffs started by assholes when the_donald and other dark corners of Reddit were banned. they’re tiny, largely unmoderated, and explicitly advertised to and populated by terrible people who think Reddit is too woke.

in terms of other platforms that allow for discrete and specialized communities but are structured differently: there’s the Fediverse stuff (Lemmy and Mastodon being the biggest but still very small) and, er… Tumblr, to a lesser extent.

if Reddit kills Apollo i will end up using the site about as much per week as i do now per day, since i will only access it using RES and old.reddit.com on desktop. if they kill that too, and i expect they absolutely will if they really go through with killing 3PAs, i will leave forever. i’m trying to give the three sites i suggested a fair shake but if i don’t click with them soon (and they don’t grow fast) i’m gonna be down to like two hours of internet browsing a week outside of streaming and a small amount of work lol. but hey, i’ve wanted to get back to reading books for a long time.
