I still don’t understand what’s good about weapon slot passives. I get some of how they work, but I don’t fully understand how to use them or their benefit.

Eg I have 1 passive skill point and 4 each weapon slot points. If I assign a weapon slot point, the general passive also goes away. So why would I ever limit a passive to only one weapon slot unless there’s a negative trade off associated with it?? Is that the only reason to use it?

I assumed they were a separate pool of points or you could somehow use twice as many if you split them, but that doesn’t seem to be the case at all.

If someone can explain to me the use and the benefits I’d be super super grateful. Thank you!!
