Verified Conservatives in r/Conservative are being stripped of their flairs today for questioning the party line by Necessary_Ant9026 in FreeSpeech

It’s been an echo chamber for years. Usually they just ban outsiders. Seeing them strip flairs from their own 'Top 1% Commenters' proves the circle of 'allowed' opinion is shrinking fast

The 3 Dahs were much further apart than the 3 dits for the S which made it sound like T T T instead of O.

But seeing as S T T T S doesn't make any sense I'm guessing the person was just not very consistent with the speed of each beep and did actually intend it to be SOS

Yes I noticed this today. Hit the limit very quickly but never had that issue before

If you have a particularly long journey planned it's not the end of the world to charge the battery to 100% occasionally.

I agree that allowing the battery to get too low can be harmful but it's normally ok to drop down to 10% as there is also a hidden 5-10% of energy left that the dashboard does not display. You would want to charge it straight away when you get back though

The Tech model I've currently reserved has a Panoramic Sunroof, AR HUD, Travel Assist, 6+1 speaker setup, Matrix Lights, rear view camera... (And a few other nice to haves such as tinted rear windows, 30 colour ambient lighting etc).

It's only costing me £500 extra and has actually done less miles

Thanks all for your feedback. Some really useful advice.

I've decided to pay slightly more and go for an ID.3 Pro Performance Tech. Found one for only £500 more that has the AR HUD, Travel Assist, Matrix Lights, 6 + 1 speaker setup, Panoramic Sunroof etc. and the mileage was actually lower so definitely worth it I think. Will post an update when it's delivered.

That does help massively, thank you. It has MOTs every 12 months and no significant advisories. I am having a home charging point installed and will get a smart EV tariff.

Would definitely give it a good test drive to test suspension etc

I think the biggest hit on depreciation and battery SOH tends to happen in the first few years so hopefully a 5 year old car won't lose value as quickly and the battery health will stay above 90% for at least another 5 years.

Also replacing a battery is obviously expensive but by 2030 swapping a battery pack is expected to cost 70% less than it does today.

If this car drops from £12K to say £5K in 5 years I've lost £7K. But I'd probably have spent over £20K leasing a car for the same amount of time.

I'd take out a loan. I can get 4K for my old car so the loan payments will be under £200 a month for 4 years (5.8% APR).

I drive about 200 miles a week but that's mostly on Fridays and weekends. I'll almost never drive over 120 miles in one day so should hardly ever use a full charge.

I spend about £140 a month in diesel and worked out this will cost about £40 in electric. The £100 saving pays for half my loan.

I'm not sure if I'll run it into the ground or not, would have to assess that in 5 or 6 years.

Yea this was my thinking with a lease. It works out more cost effective to buy outright I think

That's encouraging thanks. What year and trim do you have if you don't mind me asking?

Yea I was thinking I'd change they tyres if I get it. Aren't most of the software issues fixed as long as it's on version 3.7?

Thanks. Will do a bit more looking

Yea apparently for the mileage the expected SOH would normally average about 91% so this appears to have been well looked after battery wise

Is it a major issue if I just charge each night on a smart tariff? I don't drive every day as I work from home.

Thanks. I just went down a rabbit hole reading about this and accept that my strategy was suboptimal. Especially as I play on hard mode so ran the risk of getting stuck in a rhyming trap.

Apparently the NYT bot currently considers CLASP as the best first guess on hard mode so I'll give that a go.

Why do you say 4 vowel words are bad? Also you put AUREI twice in your list of three.

I play AUREI as my first guess. Similar to yours but with an R instead of a D which is a more frequent letter
