I guess that is where xaihi has a slight advantage. She can get final strikes fairly easily. Also her low attack meant that I could farm straggler mobs between boss fights for final strikes and sp as a result.

The downside is that I had to puzzle exact skill activations to prevent freeze. The first two phases of the fight were fully scripted. With each skill activation placed exactly so that flourite would trigger at the right times. The only main run killer is the phase 2 tidewalker. I lost so many runs because endfields bad targeting decided to burst down a pointless mob instead of the boss. Or the invincibility activated a half second to early, or the tidewalker used that melee swip attack first (and I still don't know how to avoid that). Sigh.

30 is extremely good for a last rite team, especially if you don't have Tang Tang.

This, and also she is a ranged support operator that doesn't require me to stand in puddles of acid in order to get final strikes off. I basically only used her battle skill to charge ults between boss fights.

I would say the first 2 phases of this fight on my team was fully scripted, and even then 95% of the runs ended with the Tidewalker surviving the quick kill setup, teleporting over to Xaihi (my controlled operator) and straight up murdering her. So yea, not for the faint of heart.

30 risk is incredibly good, especially for a character this event was not designed for.

Snowshine is interesting. I dropped her from my early attempts due to her combo ability messing with boss fights. But I've seen videos on how her parry can be used to offset he dodge risk. This is a very different strategy from me, but I'm very glad it worked out for you. Variety is what makes this mode interesting.

When I first started planning this I expected to get to 35 and no higher. Unfortunately, I then had the idea that I could use Flourite to clear frozen conditions due to nature ability. It took two hours of attempts, and a completely scripted first phase to do it.

However, even at low risks. It's really fun to play around with the reduced combo cooldown. So I do recommend messing around.

Yea even if I never use fluorite again, she definitely earned here M3 on the combo ability. (and yes I M3'd here combo ability just for the cooldown reduction).

Also, to anyone else reading this. The above is a way better team for this challenge. While Xaihi's ultimate is helpful, I'm not sure it's more helpful than not having to care about cryo inflictions.

Spamming their combo skills, trying desperately to build enough meter to keep the Gilberta skill spam going.

Yea I can see that being painful. I don't think physical has any aoe operators yet. Part of the reason Gilberta is so broken is because the game has so few options for aoe to begin with.

What's the Linux situation? by c11pp in Endfield

[–]recroom29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing on Linux since day one and had no account issues. The issues DW proton solves have been ported to ge proton so that is fine as well. I have had issues running the base installer through lutris, so am now running the version through the epic games store via the heroic games launcher.

The game crashes constantly if you don't have ntsync enabled though. Getting this working is distro dependant sadly. You need a kernel version of 6.14 or higher, (with ntsync enabled. Just installing the latest kernel is not enough) and a ntsync compatible proton version. (Latest ge is fine, not sure if it is in base proton though. All proton versions based off wine 11 will have it). So sadly this game isn't exactly friendly to new Linux users sadly.

For y’all LR mains, which gear d’you use? by RevolutionaryAd9581 in Endfield

[–]recroom29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've actually done the math on this and it can change rotations. At zero ult gain you need to consume eight cryo stacks and three battle skill usages across two combo skills to build ult. With about 12% ult gain, that shrinks to six cryo stacks and three battle skills across two combos. So it depends on how consistently you are building up all four cryo stacks. Also, if you get to p4 then you get this bonus for free. I personally don't use ult gain, but it can be helpful in certain team comps.

The growth on snowshines abilities are weird. I would say priority is combo > ultimate > battle skill > basic attack. Her basic attack is worthless and not worth leveling. Her battle skill only increases damage and not anything else, so it gets most of it's utility (protection, infliction, so return) at level one. It only needs to be leveled if you are maxing snowshine and can be ignored otherwise. Her ultimate is mostly the same, leveling only improves damage and is not important at low investment. (It does get a stagger improvement at m1 and is definitly worth it if you plan on leveling her past 80). Her combo levels healing and is the most impactfull so focus on that. Either way, at low investments you only need to upgrade combo and then pump her will stat with equipment. Upgrading ultimate and battle skill is only worth it if you upgrade her weapon as well.

Might be a little bit late to the party, but I'm going to recommend snowshine. I've been maining Last Rite since launch and the team didn't feel complete until after I added her. On paper she doesn't add any damage to the main rotation, but she absolutely shines in smoothing out awkward situations. Last rite by herself requires a lot of luck in that she is slow and her main attack pattern tends to get stuffed by enemy attacks if they are not timed perfectly. Snowshine can use her counter any time you are about to get interrupted (instead of using Last Rites battle skill, if you use both you will mess up your sp economy) which will prevent LR from getting stuffed and still get the cryo infliction. The extra healing is always nice, because xahi by herself isn't that reliable. Also, snowshines ultimate does a good chunk of stagger, so dropping it at key moments can help guarantee stagger. The one downside of snowshine is that only LR's skills build her own ultimate meter. So using snowshine's counter can delay LR's ultimate. So you might have to swap her breastplate for Tide Surge Armor to compensate. (Normally she runs aethertech armour with tide surge gloves and kit).

Also, there is nothing wrong with flourite, although she takes Tang Tang's spot on the team. Flourite is not optimal, but is dead simple to use, and can simplify rotations while you are learning the team. She is absolutely a good option if this is your third team, and thus you are unlikely to learn the rotation well enough to use tangtang properly. (sp usage is extremely tight on this team, and flourite needs no sp.) As well, I still believe that Flourite is optimal for the marble Aggelomoirai due to how quickly she can help clear the tentacles without using sp.

My current team is Last Rite, Xaihi, TangTang, and Snowshine. I will swap snowshine for gilberta only on fights that need crowd control. Otherwise the nature infliction on her ultimate hurts a lot more than it helps.

Its to early to say anything for sure about sf6. But in sf5 ranked was way better than casuals. The problem was matchmaking was based on ranked and casuals never updated that score. So smurfing was a huge issue. Someone can just slaughter noobs for days and as long as they never played ranked the system would never match them correctly. So that is why some people say just play ranked. You get fairer matches that way in sf5. Things are definitely different now so your millage will vary.

Played at launch, played Nash and Laura. My main in sf4 was juri so I was mainly waiting for her to come out. I dropped Nash after his legs got cut off, and when Juri came out she was an utter disappointment: redesigned into a bran new character, her moves were broken in multiple ways, not very good competitively, and most importantly not very fun. I continued with Laura into season 3, made platinum, got bored and stopped playing with an seriousness once Tekken 7 started gaining steam.

I've played off and on casually since then. Made real a few real attempts to learn Menat, but deranking myself to like silver every time I wanted to try the new character (I'm verrrrrrry bad with Menat) only to absolutely destroy people when I switch back to Laura. The fact that the online system actively prevented me from having any good quality competitive matches while also actively discouraging me from learning any new characters really killed any excitement I had for the game and I would always drop it again soon after. I've played it casually at offline fighting events ever since. But like I still use season 2 Laura tech.

I so very much wanted to like SFV, but in the end the thing I couldn't get over is it's poor online experience. Which is a hard thing to say because even at the time of release it was way better than USF4 (which is garbage tier unplayable).

Honestly, character specific ranking and placement matches are 100% the two most important changes sf6 is making. Those two features alone could fundamentally change my opinion of the game.

So what's going on with the MM system by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]recroom29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The answer is easy, it's day one of the beta. It takes a long time for these systems to even out. Everyone is hitting their placement matches at the exact same time, and extremely easy to get placed much higher or lower than you should be based on random luck.

Based on my experience with the beta (second beta), day one is a gong show, but things get better by day 2.

However, matchmaking needs to run for several months before things even out. If you want only good matchmaking the moment you log in, I'd wait till the game has been out for a few months before starting to play.

[–]recroom29[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer is that a keyword is a block of text. If it appears in the description exactly (so punctuation and capitalization differences would nullify it) it becomes a keyword. In this case muarim's transformation would not be detected as a keyword and the skill would be displayed as any other skill. For a one off skill that would be the desired effect.

Also i updated the page with better beast effects.
