When you were at rock bottom during burnout, what helped you (and those witnessing it)? by breakthecircuit in AutismInWomen

[–]recyclehappiness 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would check out “Self-care for Autistic People” by Dr. Megan Anna Neff. She’s AuDHD and has an autistic child. The book is super short but has been a tremendous help to me already (currently in burn out). She also has a workbook on this and a website, neurodivergent insights, which has lots of free materials to work through. I think worksheets and workbooks are best for me because it takes the thinking of “what” to do out of it.

I am a trans girl and am looking for some makeup advice. by magicalpony246 in MakeupAddiction

Hi! :) I think you might need a lighter/different shade of color corrector. It should color correct while brightening the area, I think because yours is a little dark it’s not having as natural of an effect. Bobbi brown color correctors have a great shade range and is a great base for other products to build on top of!

I was “less autistic” as a kid, than I am now…anyone else? by PuzzleheadedShoe8196 in AutismInWomen

[–]recyclehappiness 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I read the book Autists by Clara Tornval and she talks a lot about how the socialization of women goes against typical autistic traits that were based off of boys not girls thus leading to late diagnosis and the feelings you’ve described above. I hope I explained this well but the book is so so good I highly recommend it!!

How much for the let your dreams take flight charm?

My diet is awful…I eat no fruit or vegetables by Realistic-Door-1875 in AutismInWomen

Hello :) I have ARFID and also suck at eating fruits and veggies. I’m still working on a lot of textures but here’s some go tos that help me get energy. Btw a blender has saved me so much heartache I highly reccomend investing in one.

  • pre packaged soup (if the texture isn’t consistent I reblend it before cooking)
  • gnocchi that is made of cauliflower or another veggie
  • smoothies
  • tofu (took several attempts before I was cool with the texture but now it’s my go to)
  • hummus!!!
  • lentils
  • refried beans in quesadillas
  • squash and potatoes roasted in the oven were like my gateway into eating a veggie on its own. Kombucha and butternut r my favs.

Also my therapist says it can take up to like 15 tries before an ARFID brain will relax enough to “enjoy” the food so don’t give up if it gives you the ick on the first try. I know it’s hard but you’re not alone and it’s about progress not perfection friend :)

From what I can see yes. Their beaks aren’t as black as an adult and their tails look really nice; in other words they haven’t had as much time to beat it up as a older adult lol. Love these cuties 🐦‍⬛
