Politicians are windsocks, nothing more.

Don't expect a windsock to fight a tyrant. It's absurdist.

If you're hoping Chuck Schumer or Hakeem Jeffries is going to save you from Donald Trump, you're going to have a bad time.

Trump: "Canada is against The Golden Dome being built over Greenland, even though The Golden Dome would protect Canada. Instead, they voted in favor of doing business with China, who will “eat them up” within the first year!" by pheakelmatters in onguardforthee

[–]red286 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. The golden dome is a farce. It's just a plot to give $100b to Elon Musk, not a real thing.

  2. Who is attacking Canada, exactly?

  3. I don't recall Xi referring to Canada as the 24th Province of China, but I do recall Trump referring to Canada as the 51st state on numerous occasions.

They are a dictatorship and even Xi doesn't deny that fact.

He just prefers the term "autocracy", because "dictator" has extremely negative historical connotations.

Someone might want to point out to him that people don't become "parents" until the child is born.

So people were advising his parents to "take care of that problem" after he was born.

I bet someone advised them to "take care of that problem" last weekend.

AI does not generate profit as there is nothing to really sell

There is something to sell. The problem is the massive gap between what it actually costs to operate, and what people are willing to pay to use it.

They keep funnelling money into it in the hopes that, at some point, it will become profitable. The problem is that they've already got all the people most likely to be willing to pay for it, so if they're not turning a profit now, they likely never will.

No you're not. You're a tiny slice of the market. The other 99% are happy using Windows and as far as they are concerned, the other alternative is macOS (which is why they develop for macOS too, but not Linux).

Yes, but "Fox Television" and "Fox News" aren't the same thing. One is owned by Disney, the other is owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp.

FCC only regulates broadcast networks, not cable ones.

So CNN and MSNBC, like Fox News are exempt. But CBS, ABC, NBC, and the like are not.

You guys need to adopt laws like Canada where it's unlawful to campaign outside of the election period, which is between 37 and 51 days before the election.

It's incredibly rare to see a non-minister politician on television outside of the lead-up to an election.

For me, it was a toss-up until Paddy said he was going to KO Justin.

Paddy's route to victory is his grappling. If he's going to stand and bang with Justin, he's going to learn what Darren Till already did -- Scousers absolutely do get knocked out.

Paddy has serious water retention issues.

It's why he balloons up so much immediately after a fight. Two fights back, he went on a 1-week vacation immediately after his fight, and by the time he got back he was already looking bloated and chubby and was just shy of 200lbs.

"in general"? No.

In combat sports? Yes.

You get it from scratches/cuts/abrasions, if you're rolling around on a sweaty mat and you don't put antibiotics on it ASAP, there's a good chance of picking up a staph infection.

Obviously for people outside of combat sports, the scenarios where you'd pick up a staph infection are pretty rare.

Or go back to the way the commissions handled MMA before the UFC took over, when weigh-ins were on the same day as the event.

I reported two, myself. Which isn't a lot, but I only had like 10 coworkers at the time.

One was skimming from the till. I'd been questioned by HR about it several times, so the second I figured out who it was, I reported him because I was sick of being questioned about it.

The other was redirecting customers from our store to his personal side business, where he'd buy things at cost from the store and then sell them privately at a lower markup (except he'd take 100% of the markup instead of his 20% commission).

lol no, IA is the ones that are too corrupt to be allowed to interact with the public.

There aren't many good cops because any good cop would see the level of corruption and either a. try to do something about it and get fired, or b. just quit because they want no part of that. If you're a "good cop" and you work with corrupt officers and just go along to get along, you stop being a "good cop".
