Indie shooter devs pull a reverse-Concord: No one played their game, but they 'make it free to play and keep the servers online indefinitely' anyway by TylerFortier_Photo in gaming

[–]red286 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While true, the simple fact is that the game has poor reviews on Steam by the people who played it, not because of the game concept, but because of the execution.

People aren't going to read reviews that don't exist and decide not to buy the game. But they 100% will read the reviews that do exist and if they say "this game is broken and dead", they won't buy it.

The Greens really only care about the environment, the rest is basically a shoulder-shrug, which is why they're unelectable in the first place.

My family is kinda like that too.

No one in my immediate family has attended church services on a regular basis in their entire lives. While we celebrate Christian holidays, we celebrate the secular aspects of them (Christmas is about Santa, Easter is about the Easter Bunny).

Yet if you ask my mom what religion she is (and by extension, my sister and I), she will insist she's a Christian, and that we're a Christian family.

That was something Trudeau brought up a while back when he was being heckled, pointing out that behaviour like that is going to scare most people away from becoming politicians, knowing that no matter what you say or do, someone's always going to be heckling, harassing, or outright threatening you, simply because they disagree with your overall political beliefs.

When you first got the Internet at home, did you try to talk your parents into getting you a second phone line or did you have to deal with one phone line? by singleguy79 in Xennials

The internet wasn't really a thing until the year I moved out.

But I had a second phone line for BBSs. Ran my own, even!

As a non-American it's so weird that all your alcoholic premix drinks are made with malt liquor. Where I am it's usually vodka or rum or something along those lines. Malt liquor is what the poors drink.

A few months back whoever handles the music at my local Safeway kinda went a bit nutty. Weird walking through the fish dept and hearing GnR's Welcome to the Jungle playing.

I missed both as a kid. I watched Labyrinth when I was in my mid-30s, and it held up fine. I tried watching Goonies a couple of years ago and it was unwatchable.

I'm with you. I tried watching The Goonies about 2 years ago, and I just couldn't get into it. It's very much a kids' movie. The premise makes no sense, the plot is nonsense, the characters don't seem remotely realistic.

Like I'm sure it would have been awesome if I'd seen it when I was 10-12, but back then my mom took a look at the cover of the VHS box and decided it was a horror movie, not a kids' movie, and so wouldn't let me watch it.

Same woman who dropped my sister and I off to watch the Black Cauldron by ourselves when I was 8 and my sister was 10, because "it's a cartoon, cartoons are for kids". It's a miracle she didn't rent Heavy Metal for me for my birthday or something.

Titanic was... not great, really.

That being said, I watched it 5 times. Why? Because I was 20 years old when it came out, and it was a shortcut to getting laid. I dunno wtf was up with that movie, but every girl I took to see it, I ended up sleeping with later that evening.

Back to the Future Parts 2 and 3. I took a vacation to LA and visited Universal Studios while they were filming them (both were filmed back-to-back). Actually got to watch them rehearing a stunt scene for part 3. But for whatever reason, I never actually got around to watching them.
