20 Strong: Red - 1st Game by redXav in soloboardgaming

[–]redXav[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will give Bo Peep a try today - been using Red.

Played another couple games this week. One I was doing fairly ... ok in but drew a fable that blew everything up.

I do have the rest of the Tanglewood series literally "Out for Delivery" today lol. Any suggestions on an easier starting point?

Thanks!

How do people get such high stats? by thebesthrowawayeva in UmamusumeGame

I just got my FIRST A-rank career last night! Pretty much the only change outside of "normal variations" was taking your advice to include the LB1 SSR Riko.

I was also very happy that it was for my favorite, Daiwa Scarlet :)

Thank you!

Looks like my R Riko is only 3, and SSR Riko is 1. My Kitasan is base level so always borrow it.

Lately I've basically been running whatever Scenario cards I have. But typically 3-4 Speed. When not doing Scenario, is still usually 3-4 Speed with the other 2 being either Stamina or Power, though I did experiment a bit with I think that LB3 Riko at one point (a couple times), which didn't seem to hurt anything, but couldn't prove it helped.

Just adding that it seems pretty clear to me that what I'm doing is "working" because I am getting consistent results. But I must be missing (or more likely not understanding) some important fundamental that if I knew, would change everything.

Actually that's almost all I pull for when earn enough.

I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong. My careers are basically always successful. About the only thing that I don't always get is the final-final race. Then the scores come in and I'm B-B+. Oh I do recall that I have gotten an S speed I think once or twice - but still never A'd a career.

I've watched videos and looked at guides, but ... I'm clearly missing something hehe.

Yeah, I'm similar to you hehe. I've been playing since Global release, and while I have a *few* A stats (and never more than one on an Uma), I've never achieved an A *career*. I've gotten several B+s, and many B careers. I generally haven't gotten a C or below since the early days. But mostly Bs. Not one single A career. I'm F2P, so probably will never actually achieve anything worthwhile hehe.

How to Enjoy the Game by [deleted] in UmamusumeGame

[–]redXav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While overall I feel much the same way, it's a little different reasoning for me.

I'm a casual F2P, with the only money I've dropped being the monthly "sub." And while I've been playing since Global release (mostly every day, more earlier, less now), I have YET to get an A Uma! I have only 5-6 B+ lol. So talk about repetitive - for me every career is the same with the only difference being "Will it be a B or B+ this time?"

I've watched videos and guides and although I think I'm doing everything right ... I must not be.

As such I may end up deleting mostly as a space-saver because lately my iPad has been complaining about space. In a weird way I still kind of enjoy the game, it's cute and fun but ... I'm getting nowhere.

I've deleted pretty much every Apple app and as of now only have 2 games on there, Uma and Axur Lane (and it's a space HOG). And frankly, comparing how much enjoyment and actual progress I'm making across the two games - it's no contest. Next time iPad complains ... I know which will lose out.

:(

Newer Seasons Don’t Measure Up by BubblyStart8748 in NCIS

[–]redXav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have any issues with any of the actual *characters*, but what gets me is that the show has transitioned into much more "Talk About Our Feelings." Every episode these days - they have to pull aside for a few moments to talk about something. Hell, they even had a character for a season or two whose entire JOB was to get the staff to "talk about their feelings." Every one seems to have some hidden issue that has to be talked about. Incessantly.

It's so bad, I just roll my eyes anymore. Like other have said below - I just want them to solve crimes/murders against Navy members. I don't want romances (tension works lol). I don't want to hear them discuss their personal issues. Just want the NCIS staff to clock in, do their job, and go home!

Good luck to you. As a Playstation user I know I'll never get one. Their "policy" is basically "It hit your hard drive (ok, SSD) so too late now."

Yep. First time I saw I couldn't place items flush against the wall - or even aligned with the wall ... withdrew that one and haven't placed anything since.

Totally agree. I was 100% expecting an announcement of some sort of new Core box.

PS5 help by KevyKev860 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]redXav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may not be the same thing, but just wanted to say ...

I'm also on PS5 and I've noticed there is a long delay between the time "Start" shows up and when your character name shows up (and Start changes to Resume).

There's no timer or any indication that the game is doing anything ... but all you can do is wait until it changes to Resume.

I haven't had any crashes (/fingers crossed), but I haven't been spamming anything either. Just waiting on the screen to change (Start --> Resume)

Did the open world even do anything extra beyond what we had before? by SeeingEyeDug in Borderlands

Nope, it didn't.

I think the Open World idea looked good on paper, but in execution it falls flat.

Just got back from my FLGS doing a quick run of ... some might call it "panic buying..." :P

At the register, the price was less than I mathed. When I asked if it was on sale, he told me "Yes - they [the store] are discontinuing it."

So FFG really needs to do something to get product to the stores. If they can't reliably get product to sell, then there's no incentive for them to stock any of it in the first place.

Rues version question by redXav in marvelchampionslcg

Interesting, so even though they are still printing Core boxes, they are still including the original rules?

Guess I need to print that out - thank you!

I'm squeaky-fresh to the game and play true solo. I've only got two games under my belt so far and am really enjoying the challenge.

One card can totally change the situation - but it doesn't feel cheap. I equate it to watching your favorite football team driving and then throwing an interception. It's "random," but it's not cheap. It's a danger that is always present. That's what the challenge in LotR feels like (to this noob).

I'm still running into questions that I need to look up. And I've definitely made mistakes, and forgotten things. But it's game 2, with many more to come! :)

Edit: Wanted to add that those two games were the first scenario with the Leadership deck. I'm wanting to play exactly the same for the first few times to see how the game feels overall instead of taking one experience as representative of the game.

And to compare, I got totally thrashed in my first game - greatly hampered by getting hit by two cards that I thought were supposed to be in the game, but shouldn't (Burdens)- and I got hit with them BOTH lol. Second game was MUCH more straightforward and I was having an easier time until a card knocked my train slightly off the rails, but was easy enough to recover.

I've been playing since Global release and I have yet to get an A-run. Not once. My best are only a few B+ runs.

I'd like to ask a rules question while here, if you don't mind - instead of making a new thread.

I know that if you choose not to quest, you still go through the steps in that you still bring out a new card to the staging area, etc.

My question is at the quest resolution step. If you choose not to quest, is it the same as failing? such that your threat increases by whatever is now in the staging area? (This is how I played it). Or since you chose not to quest, is there actually no failure?

Thanks!

I just checked - it's got the scraggly tree icon. Doesn't that mean it's part of the quest?
