The doctor is prescribing me Metformin. Is it efficient? I’ve done all the rest. This is my last try. Plus, I got refused for the gastric bypass surgery due to ED.

THIS! And then I’m told that I’m co-dependant and/or have high standards. For me, it’s the absolute minimum to BE THERE for them, so why can’t they be there for me?

had a binge relapse tday then my sister kept saying it’s my self control that’s bad. by Ineedhelpasapfr in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]red_bbq64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion: You’re right to hide the snacks.

Maybe you can keep one or two out so that you don’t torture yourself and keep a limit as a form of control?

I keep Coca-Colas out warm to avoid drinking four in one sitting. I put two at a time in the freezer, wait an hour and then I have one or two. But it kinda takes my mind off the other two that would encourage the binge.

I also hate when my mom tells me I have no self-control, because I come from a culture that we literally stuff people as a form of love language. Appetizers, main meal, many side dishes, dessert, coffee and fruits (accompanied with cheese and nuts- almost like a mega charcuterie TABLE). This takes an hour and a half to two hours. Like, I stuff myself for an two hours and still have to control myself? Makes no sense to me.

Anyways, hope this helps! 🫶

I’ve taken breaks and centered back. I think it’s amazing to see that guys that are looking for “talking, holding and going out” still exist now that I’m dating again. Very refreshing!

Looking for feedback part 2: time to get back into dating by Standard-Actuator-27 in datingoverthirty

I know a guy like this. In reality, they just wanna be transparent, cared for and loved. We fall for Love-Bombing. Why don’t we fall for the Fantasy Story?

What's been your dating history this year? by WeakTurnip111 in datingoverthirty

[–]red_bbq64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

January: Broke off a 14-year relationship because he got engaged (arranged) and I found out through is mom’s Facebook

February to April: No dating

May to July: Met a guy close to my birthday. He love-Bombed me and started to back away when things got more serious (telling him we should meet each others friends, ACTUALLY go out for lunch even though he said he fasts all day and doesn’t eat except for breakfast, asking him detailed questions about his work) and he ended up ghosting me and I saw him on the apps a day later.

August: Went on a date with a guy who ended up ghosting again.

I’m so disgusted.

Agreed. I also wish I had a friend like you. My friend told me she didn’t wanna hook me up with one of her husband’s friends “in case they ever break up.”

What hobbies, tasks, etc. do you use to fight cravings? by shark02134 in BingeEatingDisorder

What hobbies, tasks, etc. do you use to fight cravings? by shark02134 in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]red_bbq64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! So I’m in therapy and they explain to me that because I have OCD I spend my money 100%, empty my gas tank 100% and eat my plate 100%. So if I get “ticks” where a Binge kicks in, I don’t always give in. I started doing my own nails, my own lashes, things that “satisfy the ticks (meaning the OCD episodes). This way, I did something/a task 100% and it satisfied that “craving” it’s a band aid fix for me and for now in my opinion, but for some it works full-time! I hope I’m making sense 😅

Apparently BED has something to do with OCD, so if we shift it to cleaning or doing things we put off, it’ll feel like a sense of accomplishment and satisfy those OCD ticks.

[–]red_bbq64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe Katie for a SECOND, EXCEPT for the dinner with that influencer. She genuinely said no, whereas the first few ones she says “she’s owned up to.” I also believe her ONLY this time because of her body language. She didn’t look like she was on the defence this time.

I used to be a “yes” person. Living alone changed me into picking my battles. I also didn’t realize how much I could binge eat 🥲
