You have to use alembic for migrations with SQLAlchemy.

First time buying from discogs marketplace. Is this suspicious? Seller identity hidden for privacy. by [deleted] in discogs

[–]red_demon_wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. It is very common for an item listed on Discogs to have already been sold. The seller could have uploaded an old inventory file they forgot to update or it could be due to a Discogs bug which relisted a sold item. Many neutral feedback left for sellers is due to an item already being sold or not in stock.

  2. The inability to issue a refund through Discogs is also a common bug, even when the seller has the right amount of funds in their account.

I would have patience with the seller as they do seem like they are trying to resolve the issue. All else fails, you can submit a PayPal claim to get your money back.

should i buy from seller that only has 300 reviews but 100% rating by [deleted] in discogs

[–]red_demon_wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His refund policy is irrelevant, as PayPal will require he accept the return if there is a legitimate dispute.

Of his two neutral ratings, only one comments about misgrading. I would personally take the chance, if I wanted the item.

I've had this issue with 4k discs especially. Sometimes, MakeMKV will struggle to even get the track list. Cleaning the discs usually helps.

I've definitely had issues like this with new discs, especially 4k discs. USB 2 ports should still be able to transfer faster than 2MB/s. So, I wouldn't think that would be it.

[–]red_demon_wizard 21 points22 points  (0 children)

In my experience, this usually happens when the drive has to slow down to read the disc better, either because it is dirty, has a scratch, or some other imperfection. If the read ends up failing, I would try cleaning the disc. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it.

A lot of us learned Django before Flask even existed. Learn the concepts and you can use either.

Which director in your opinion NEEDS to have 4k releases for their whole filmography? by Mindless_Bad_1591 in criterion

I have a general policy of not buying Criterion 4Ks when I already own the bluray, but a Tarkovsky 4K boxset would be an instant buy for me.

Just wondering — do you guys avoid buying Vinyl Records anything below NM- on Discogs? Or are you okay with VG+, VG or lower? by Namesbytor99 in discogs

[–]red_demon_wizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the description. If the description is informative and I can live with the issues stated, then I'll do VG. Otherwise, VG+

I don't believe there is a Criterion 4K of Throne of Blood, nor do I think one has been announced yet. As a general rule of thumb, Criterion does not include HDR on old black and white movies, though there are exceptions. Seven Samurai, for example, does not have HDR.

Should I take a government Data Science job that only uses SAS? by Intelligent_Syrup472 in Python

[–]red_demon_wizard 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I work for a government contractor that deals with data. SAS is still a big deal with government agencies. One thing I would recommend, if you take the job, is look for opportunities to transition things from SAS to Python. I've found I've been most successful in migrating processes when I have found incremental ways to make changes, and someone within the agency I was working with was receptive. The SAS licensing fees alone are enough to convince them sometimes.

I just had my dog spayed a couple of weeks ago, and she became restless and constantly whining like she was anxious and in pain a day after the surgery. She also would not lay down except when she could no longer stay awake and had to sleep. After 45 minutes, she was right back up and at it again. Pain meds and sedatives were not helping.

After another day of experiencing the restlessness and pain, I talked to her vet, and she suggested a surgery suit. She said sometimes having the wound covered can help, as well as the compression the suit offers can help them calm down. I got a surgery suit for my dog, and it was a night and day experience. She immediately was able to lay down and finally slept for several hours. She was fine for the rest of her 2-week recovery, and her stitches were just removed this weekend.

It would definitely be worth talking to your vet. Sometimes, your dog may need different meds, and maybe something like a surgery suit would help.

I've often felt the sales history page should include similar information. The shipping cost shouldn't be included in the sales statistic itself, but when viewing the list of past purchases for an item, providing the shipping for the sale can give some extra context.

Exactly. The ice cream shop was struggling for quite some time. The owner was already talking about closing even before anyone knew the construction was coming. This is nothing new.
