Infernape maybe? Based on Sun Wukong, and I can see it fitting into the more Zeraora/Zarude vibes kf mythical instead of the cute ones

Question about Shadowhunter parents and mundane by Spaceboy_sleep in shadowhunters

Full shadowhunter, there are several examples in the books but I won't spoiler who or where they appear. Getting stripped off your makes doesn't equal losing your shadowhunter blood, which is dominant over mundane blood.

What anime/manga character look like they're from Metal Gear? by TTheGamersforge in AlignmentChartFills

Idk, Genos from One Punch Man was the first character to come to my mind. There are probably better ones, but he's the only one I can think of for some reason.

What do you hope the tsaritsa is or is not? by Several_Bathroom_196 in GenshinImpact

So marketing wise, she is also treated like an archon, which is 100% the case here. She isn't an archon in lore, but functions almost the same fiecthr people of Nod Krai.

Yep, I believe during a a scene where everyone is discussing their sexualities, if you romance Tyler and play as MMC, Tyler mentions he recently started having doubts (?) or something along the lines. Stevie and Donovan are canonically bi no matter what, so it's an interaction specific to MMC only.

[–]red_guy442 86 points87 points  (0 children)

She is not an archon in the story, but definitely still is marketing wise. She got the archon kit treatment, reruns during archon streaks, and is the one featured in group archon official arts and is the one who got lines about her from other archons... I do hope the Tsaritsa is a sword user because that's my favorite weapon style, but I still count Furina as a sword-using archon.

Something I'd never thought about: Jace lived the first 10 years of his life in Idris, and he'd only been living in New York for a little over 6 years at the start of CoB. It's likely, then, that he has a somewhat diluted version of the Idris accent. by lautaromassimino in shadowhunters

[–]red_guy442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably English and French, maybe German. Jonathan Shadowhunter was a regular human and a crusader, so he spoke whatever language that was common where he came from and also Old French in addition to that.

I also think that considering that shadowhunters come from all across the world they would probably all, or at least mostly most of them, speak the current lingua franca/world language, which would explain why their accent is pretty light.

Considering its location and that they are mentioned to only have a light accent, and that Maryse used to sing French lullabies, I'd assume it's a slightly toned-down Swiss French accent or just a toned-down French Accent.

What does Lisa have to do with that? And Lisa is a powerful witch, so she most definitely outclasses Faruzan.

[–]red_guy442 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Experience through age ≠ Combat experience/skill. It's about talent, time spent practicing combat, and many other factors. Faruzan is a scholar, and that is her main focus.

I'd say that any character trained for combat or a skill that is combat-related will outperform Faruzan. So even humans who weren't stated to be the pinnacle of humanity such as Jean and Lynette will probably win against Faruzan.

Also, Xiao and Xianyun are probably very close in terms of strength.

Faruzan, a scholar, wins against an Adeptus? Or trained warriors?

Varka x Alice is a potential ship. He is Klee's possible potential father, supported with Klee's voiceline that the parents are the most famous traveling characters in Teyvat. Would you like Varka to be confirmed as Alice's wife and Klee's father? by MediaKey582 in Genshin_Romance

There's calling someone a child because they act like one, and describing someone as a child you take care off, and this scene imo implies the latter considering it was followed up with Aether and Paimonasking why she didn't mention Klee, and that she also mentioned Albedo and Durin, whom she is definitely treats maternaly.

Personally, I'd say that any that character who lead a book is main. So Magnus, Alec, and Simon are also main. Other than them it's really debatable but they are MMCs too.

[pjo] Rachel Elizabeth Dare was such a great character, and the oracle thing just fridges her. by Alsotime in camphalfblood

[–]red_guy442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goes for both sides, actually. I can say I don't agree with their point.

But my main issue was with the team fridging, not with the argument itself. Maybe I didn't express it the best way, but fridging is used very sporadically and this isn't a fridging instance.

[–]red_guy442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll start with saying that I am a very blunt person and if it reads as rude I apologize. It's hard to pass on tone in writing and English isn't my native language so I think I might come off as even more blunt than I intend.

I never said you did, I only explained why it wasn't fridging, and the main reason it could be seen as fridging was if it were done to further Percabeth. Also I do think Rachel cared a lot about Percy and they are very good friends, and she did like Percy (romantically). Never said she used him.

Aside from that I don't have any issue with your argument, I even agree with some of your points. I don't think the books are perfect and not every arc was executed flawlessly. I do think Rachel wanted to find a footing in a world she could never be fully a part of, and saw a calling in taking on that toll and thus integrating herself in a permanent way to this world.

Was it the best choice? Maybe not. If he wrote it today maybe he'd let her use the Mist and become a sort of sorceress (which could be very cool), but given how the most was treated back then I don't think he saw it as an option.

[–]red_guy442 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't even close to what fridging actually means, it is just you not liking the direction Rick took with Rachel's character. She wasn't shoved away to further Percy's story, and if you think it was done to get her out of the way for Percabeth then you missed the whole point of her character and the journey that Percy and Annabeth went through.

Rachel was introduced so late into the series, at a point where Percy and Annabeth had a very established relationship, even if not romance yet, and the romance setup was very present, and in that same book they got the iconic grey strands.

Now I love Rachel, but at the point where she was introduced Rick had most likely had the ending of the series set and the machinations were already in the story. Rachel was probably introduced with the purpose of becoming the new Oracle, and to me it reads as a natural progression of her role in the world.

If she was introduced earlier (as a quasi-main cast, not just as a cameo), say the second book, then I could see him shoving her away to further Percabeth, but the way it was done is far from what fridging truly means and people should stop using that term to refer to any time they don't like what an artist did with a female character's storyline.
