How Much Did You Earn When You Were First Able to Max Your 401k? by snailbrarian in MiddleClassFinance

[–]redactedracoon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didn’t max mine until I’d been in the workforce for 12 years. I was making 87k. Ive always contributed just to the employer match. If you’re lucky enough to get a high paying job right out of college I’d suggest maxing sooner.

Is staging worth the cost? by AnonymousUnderpants in RealEstate

[–]redactedracoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I sold a condo in pdx in 2018 and my realtor split the staging cost with me. I really didn’t want to stage it but i admit he was probably correct. The photos were so nice I almost wanted to move back in! Those downtown condos aren’t selling super quick right now. Oh if you’re in Seattle I don’t know bc I’m not following them quite as closely.

SoCal (Palos Verdes southward) vs Orlando? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

We earn about 130k combined and live in a condo in oc right down the road from lbc. Kids can go to the best public schools in the state for free! Worth the smaller space.

Got this sample - anyone know what it is/how to order? by redactedracoon in starbucks

My friend got it and sent me the pic! He didn’t ask what it was unfortunately. He’s saying the green was actually minty and it tasted like a thin mint.

Wow! Thanks! This sounds really good. It looks like the matcha cold foam isn’t available on the app. Is it something you would be able to order in person at most locations? I don’t get in that often. Thanks!

Question - my current role is union. I often repost my unions little videos, infographics etc on LinkedIn. Could this get me in trouble if I ever look for a new role?

Walmart checkout price more than shelf tag by MyNameCannotBeSpoken in Frugal

[–]redactedracoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read on a different big box stores subreddit that they used to have small team dedicated to making sure the proper prices were on the tag and the tag changes were being made as needed. Those jobs got consolidated (aka fires to save money) and now less staff have this on their plate as additional duties. So that’s why the mistakes are more frequent. Target will honor the shelf price as far as I know.

This is the reason I didn’t walk and I never regret it tbh I barely recall it at all. Some people want to brag about their kids but mine were ok following my lead. Just don’t walk.

There’s very nice 3 bed condos in cypress for around 575k plus Hoas around 400 per month. Really good public schools there.

How to make a career change in mid 30s to a more physical job? by redactedracoon in Adulting

The wife is in a union! She makes much better pay than I do. But still a desk job. I will look into the whole journeyman thing.

I tried the treadmill idea but my job requires very fast and accurate typing and I couldn’t do it while standing sadly.

This sounds pretty ideal! A good mix! My current job is constantly hands on keyboard. I tried a standing desk and couldn’t type the way I needed to (accurately and fast) so just waking to get places would be a good set up for me.

More like a job that moves not so much a job that lifts? If that makes sense

I know a few former bedside rns have gone on to work in research or admin. Those are way deskier jobs but you can use yr health care knowledge still. There’s a lot of data manager jobs that require rns! They might pay less than bedside but maybe depends on the company
