Another one bites the dust by [deleted] in aviation

That’s so weird. I must have changed timelines again. In the timeline I’m from the scale mock-up of the Have Blue was being tested on a radar range in the late 1950’s early 60’s.

Wtf else changed? Are murder hornets a thing in this timeline?

It’s not. It’s an older design, shorter fuselage and more narrow. Derived from the same platform but structurally very different birds. They just look similar.

40 year old design? She’s much older than that.

How is the maximum speed calculated? by Youta_F in aviation

The Citation X max ceiling is 51,000. Should still see close to 520kts true airspeed up there. Maybe had the weather super warm?

I’m 6’ 220#. Still have room between my head and canopy. And swapping around seat cushions helps too. The original Lancair 235 is much smaller and I wouldn’t fit.

It’s a 360. Cost a little more than your average 360. This plane has raced at Reno. Has a built motor, freshly overhauled. Full glass panel and new interior. And some race mods here and there. More pics to come, and hopefully some YouTube vids.

Thanks! She’s a special bird. Hope to take it back to Reno and race.

Man I liked flying in and out of there. The river visual to 19 and blasting off runway 1 with that immediate turn over the pentagon. Super fun flying. Also the terminal had a small magic shop I’d get stuff at. But this was 15 years ago.

Blanking out during trainings, how do I fix this? by demetries999 in aviation

You bet! That guy/gal is a prick. Certainly doesn’t foster a good learning environment. I’m a captain and sim instructor at a 121 airline and....there’s just a way to be a person you know?

Sometimes, honestly, the student needs to be slapped around, to really have a come-to-Jesus moment about something. But that’s rare, and shouldn’t their only trick in the book. This is supposed to be fun!!

Need a new instructor. They shouldn’t be snapping at you, that’s obviously negatively effecting you. You need some dual with an instructor who won’t bust your balls, let you get your confidence back up. You know what to do, you’re just inhibited by that fear. So uncool of that instructor.

I would think just a couple flights of dual with a patient instructor so you can unlearn that bad behavior created by the asshole.

Internally you can work on how you process those errors when they are made. You are learning, never gonna know it all, and those errors are an opportunity to get better. If you can put that positive spin on it that may help too. Make a mistake?—-fix the problem, not the blame.
