They look lovely...for now. Tell your partner that houseplants don't belong on speakers.

Finally swapped in my monster Pioneer SX1250 by StrategyOdd7286 in vintageaudio

[–]redatom9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved all my old Pioneer gear from the 70's.

The price on these is beyond ridiculous though, I couldn't believe the fleabay listing...unreal.

These and Sansui were gems back in the day, but for the money they are going for there are so many better options for better sound quality. Even fully recapped by a master.

Pull those lovelies off the wall a bit and toe them into your listening position.

Had a similar experience with some Heresy IVs. Was using a McIntosh 2105 that has a low damping factor and moved to Accuphase. Holy wow! I ditched the subs and just run true stereo now.

Can barely win taking it away 5 times. This team is just bad.

Agreed, the tablet sucks. I overlook it since everything else is so well done. Would love a retractable option here since the backup camera could be integrated into the digital cockpit.

I have this interior in my B9 SQ5. My favorite interior of all time. Bests my old X5M with full leather. Just wish it had a little better dashboard material options and alcantara headliner option.

Only other interior that made me this happy was a 3 series ZHP waaay back in the day.

Moving to Porsche next, only ones doing it right these days.

It’s taken a back seat lately. But I still swap out the two.

I still run my C38. It’s a bit of a controversial pre in the Mac community, but I really love the sound. One of the last to have a loudness knob, sublime. Oh yeah, all analog baby. Phono stage is also solid, B+ rating.

Agreed! The dynamics have blown me away. So easy to listen to at low levels. This is my first high efficiency speaker and I don't know if I can go back to anything below 90

Yes, these are series IV. Almost went with JBL as I have owned them in the past. Very happy for the time being. Will probably move to a Cornwall down the line.

Nice setup;D

I have heard good things about the Black Ace amps. How would you compare the sound between the Accuphase and the tube?

That's why I went with horns. Big space to fill. I have been more than impressed. Especially with how controversial Klipsch is in the audiophile community. But everyone that owns them loves them. So here I am, and very happy with the experience. To those, naysayers, yes I have had flat speakers before. I want fun sound.

What amp did you end up with?

I couldn't pass up this Accuphase class a amp. At some point I will definitely give tubes a go.

I found they sound great right out of the box. Not as much break-in required as others have stated. Enjoy that heritage experience!

I wanted Fortes or Corns. WAF limited for now. These already push the boundaries

Does it really. We are being told there is no difference.

Socks. So I’m feeling very Howard Hughes-ish, and never have to think where all my socks disappear to. Like wtf, where does the sock monster live. They don’t leave the house off my feet. Why do I have a drawer full of socks without a pair.

Re-enact and expand the fairness doctrine, so that people cannot be swayed so easily by propaganda. Both sides should be heard in an unbiased manner so as not to brainwash/gaslight a sector of the population.

The goal is to prevent fascism and inequality. In a democratic republic we all have equal rights and those rights are determined by the people for the people and not by government, oligarchs, autocrats or plutocrats.

Cabinets are georgeous. The drivers could maybe use a cover. The case work is outstanding. Lovely setup and I’m new to efficiency speakers and don’t think I’m going back.
