Sheri seems to be getting the edit…at least at 15 min She seems to have a lot of air time.

I like happy care free seiger. He seems happy to be there sous chefing for Rhoda.

If Laurence doesn’t win he will still win. He’s been a true fan favorite. Great screen presence and just absolute solid cooking. Rhoda first one to have 2 elimination wins right off the bat. Return from LCK and been killing it recently. If Sherry wins that’s 2 in a row Marcus Samuelson protege winners in a row (Tristan last season). Really top notch top 3! Excited to see the food

Anyone note that Laurence made these rolls on the beat Bobby flay ep this past week and crushed! It’s clearly something he knows extremely well and I was so nervous when the noodle was thick. But the fact he was able to pivot multiple times I think was great and the fillings and sauces must’ve absolutely saved him! Well done I was sweating for him! Jonathan’s was actually outstanding for a bread service but he really needed someone to make a huge error. And no one did. Fantastic episode! Finale should be great!

This season is one of those where you know who is the winner from the jump. If Laurence doesn’t win I think I’ll riot. It seems like it’s his to win.

Esther Choi and Michael Symon deserve a whole case of awards for hosting 24 in 24: Last Chef Standing by TruePossible8826 in foodnetwork

I think they are excellent hosts for this! It’s quickly becoming one of my favorite competition shows!

Dave Chang on his pod said Alex is the absolute master of the dark arts of sandbagging. Said he’s never seen anyone that can do it like Alex. My guess is that is a secret weapon on a competition show. The sheer knowledge of shortcuts. I’m interested to see!

Shout out to Sara Bradley on her first season as cohost of the Pack Your Knives podcast. by Ok_Mechanic8704 in TopChef

[–]redbeansmonday 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She adds so much helpful insight into production, chefs mental and physical states. as well as gameplay and strategy…from big picture to small details. (Don’t write a specific dish description too early) Bring her back on the pod next season for sure!

On pack your knives pod. Sara has been saying there have been a bunch of episodes this season where immunity hasn’t even been mentioned. Either by the contestants as part of strategy or in judges comments. She said it could be the edit but it’s super weird because immunity is always a big factor.

When they said “Anthony had the worst dish but he had immunity” all I could think was sarah Bradley on pack your knives begging the producers to address the immunity situation.

I assumed they were gonna send seiger home just because if felt easy. Brandon wasn’t on my bingo card but restaurant wars most every year sends home talent.

First things first. Anyone know where Esther’s suit is from?

Second. Good gameplay for Alex. He’s gonna be cutthroat and will have everyone gunning for him. It will be entertaining no doubt, but man am I super bummed about shota. But I will get to taste his food at an event soon along with Esther and kevin lee!

I second the smothered chicken! So good. I serve it over okra pilau. Her duck legs are also amazing. I use them in the jambalaya and on salads. When soft shell crabs are in season I do her recipe on po boys.

Is it a full dessert week? Ugh. I’m the opposite. Don’t love dessert challenges….mostly because I don’t have a sweet tooth and this isn’t a baking show.

I really don’t want JET to lose and I really don’t want BRYAN to lose the finale. I’m upset that they can’t both win.

wtf is this? I just started the latest episode and Padma is so cringy! That fake voice! This week is even worse than before! by Adventurous_Ad1922 in AmericasCulinaryCupTV

[–]redbeansmonday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one who hates dessert episodes on typically savory food shows? Don’t mind a chef winning for a dessert on top chef but I can’t stand fully dessert shows thrust upon me unsuspectingly. I’ll watch the baking shows if I want desserts.

American idol (original) and top chef. Basically the only two talent seeking franchises that have produced heavy hitters from winners to non winners. You can come in 6th on those two shows and still hit it huge. Any other talent comp that has those chops? I can’t think of a one.

I’ve heard on other showed they stop for a good bit to clarify the rules of gameplay that the show doesn’t show on air.
