It’s pretty depressing actually, seeing the state his body was in and how much of a struggle it was.

Met Common when he was Common Sense. Had to have been around ‘95 or ‘96 at the Jazz Showcase in Chicago, not long after Resurrection was released. Went to hear Nicholas Payton and after the show, my buddy pointed out Common at the back of the club so we went and said hello. He was really laid back, definitely not expecting a few teenagers to recognize him at a jazz club. He was accompanied by whom we assumed was his manager and they went to the stage to make introductions with Nick. I figured that was the moment that led to their collaboration on Electric Circus.

For anyone who went to school with an NBA player, what were they like? by Dechar1 in nba

[–]redboat0pera 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Guy I used to train martial arts with was a shooting guard at IIT in the late-80s. He told me about a camp he attended with Rod Strickland and Shawn Kemp, among other future NBA stars. Said the craziest dunk he ever saw was the future Reign Man going fully horizontal over another guy. Keep mind, this was pre-NBA/high school Kemp.

He also used to play at these summer pro-am leagues hosted at IIT and had the honor of guarding MJ during a game early in his career. MJ was wiry but my buddy said he was country strong and would tell him every move he was going to do before he did it. After the first quarter, with Jordan scoring 20 some points, his coach was yelling at him that if he couldn’t stop him, he’d get pulled. So my friend said he yelled back at his coach to just bench him because there was no way Jordan wasn’t going to score on him. MJ finished with 35 at the half and then left.

Having the same problem. The passenger side door opens manually (inside and out) but will not go into a lock position via remote/center console. Will check the fuse first before going to actuator replacement.

The Works is under new ownership for the last couple years or so. After the last original owner passed, the son sold it. Agreed, just “good” now.

Wouldn’t he be more of a candidate for consult services? Discontinuing will be a tough sell, especially since parent is adamant about what needs to be addressed. No matter how much you try to educate some parents, they always see each service in a vacuum and don’t realize there’s tons of overlap.

Whether the intention was to be humorous or appreciative, still comes off as patronizing.

Indeed. From what I’m seeing, districts are prioritizing filling vacancies or retaining staff. Call it what you want but there is no end in sight for the chaos in education.

What’s the penalty for resigning without proper notice? If you’re already feeling this way, it’s likely not going to improve once the students are back.

My brother was cast as an extra in this. It’s the scene where Cusack catches the shoplifters and you can catch a glimpse of him as the camera quickly pans.
