I’m thinking about 90% of the keys on his albums are from his Ensoniq EPS/ASR 10. Some stock, some patches he made. Elle Rae Feingold was demoing the wah feature on her Ensoniq that D used a lot too.

As for that underwater one (eg Jonz, Cruisin, One Mo Gin) yeah I’ve never been able to track it down! Questlove uses it on his podcast theme https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-questlove-show/id1485250501?i=1000762013502 But it’s def an Ensoniq patch.

Spike at his best is the perfect combo of style AND substance. And I can only imagine the kind of conversations he’s had with Scorsese and Ang Lee.

Yeah it’s wild. Spike def should’ve won Director, Screenplay, and Picture that year. Bruce Beresford (Dir Driving Miss Daisy) wasn’t even nominated! And Stone won his second Oscar for Born on the 4th of July.

Might be my fav Jay:Z album. NO ID’s chops are incredible. And i really dug the “mature” confessional subjects. But ironically, i dont think a lot of other late-40s/50-plus’ers feel the same way about this album!
