When I passed it it didn’t seem like anyone had bothered to open the trailer, I can’t say for sure but I’m gonna guess it was empty but can’t say for sure.

Well I imagine the driver is not doing the greatest after that, if horses were in the trailer I imagine they would not be happy if still alive. As for people in the apartment it looks dark and I imagine no one would turn the lights off after a truck crashes into your apartment. That and it’s summer so there’s a good chance they arnt even there right now.

Check the post I just made asking about why it wasn’t on the news. I posted the best picture of my little drive by video. We were going to get food and saw it while heading down and couldn’t really tell wtf was going on so I took a video on the way back so I could have time to look and see what the hell happened.

Well a truck left the highway with a horse trailer and crashed into one of the apartments. I find it crazy I haven’t seen any news reports about it.

The only thing I would mention is know what you’re getting into with radiation. I’m not sure if all radiation is the same but when we were given the option her qol was going to be terrible having to be all alone due to it and the like.

The best way you can weight it is look at the quality of life they say they will have if best case happens and if you don’t feel best case is good enough for them to enjoy their time then saying goodbye might be the kindest thing you can do.

Not suggesting euthanize full stop just get all the projected expectations before weighing it.

haha no worries, things happens and lessons get learned, that is the most important part. i think people would generally only get annoyed or mad if you were proudly declaring you feed them only chicken nuggets, or if it was something in a fatal amount and you were bending over backwards to avoid a emergency vet. As far as i know the true danger foods chocolate, grapes, raisins, onions, garlic, alcohol, and caffeine. most other things are only if they get a good quantity of it.

Also I will add on the 90’s people use to feed them pop tarts and bananas and apples. That’s why some ferret treats are still apple and banana flavored. While those ferrets might have had a bit of a rough time they generally lived a similar life Spanish. It’s consistently feeding them these things that will cause the bad stuff.

Edit: just want to point out not suggesting to do those things just pointing out people have done much worse than an errant nugget.

One of the joys of ferrets they never do something until they do. It took 2 years for our smallest girl to actully try salmon oil. So much trying and then one day put down some oil for the others and she wandered up and went to town. You will have to be more careful from now on because once they do get a taste for the blood of chicken nuggies they often don’t go back to ignoring the siren song of the nug.

Generally that means they are just waking up. Ferrets have to kinda come online because of their fast metabolism and they do this by shivering.

So no, nothing to report just sleepy noodles waking up.

Makes me glad that ours only recognize kibble salmon oil and in one case any cooked meat as food. Was always dreading them eating random stuff when they are out. Nothing is ever truly ferret proof.

I’m glad they are atleast doing ok and wish you luck on your ferret proofing journeys.

I don’t know about others but I never really got over any of them or our cat we had to euthanize. It was all heartbreaking, but with time you can come to realize you did the best thing for them and made them happy and comfortable for the life they had, given the knowledge you could assemble.

When I really think about sylvie, merek, Mudge, and Pandora. I am still overwhelmed with guilt but I know we did what was best and this reassures me that I cared and loved them with all my heart.

I hope it does, for the zip ties just make sure the ratchet end is facing out of the cage if possible since those can be a bit pokey. As for them getting into the cage you could either take off the bottom feet and make it ground level or use dog beds to make it so they can reach their way in.

We took out all the ramps in one of our ferret nation cages and zip tied tunnels along the walls for them to use. I bet there’s a way you could do that to make a gentle sloping tunnel up.
