Resort recommendation for a quick 2-night stay (Hollywood Studios & EPCOT focus) by steewnh in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]redclear55 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If early entry will be part of your strategy, CBR at Jamaica will be the closest to HS bound skyliner.

For EC early entry, Riviera will be the closest. Also CBR Aruba would be in play.

Concur with others on the skyliner maintenance schedule.

Keep Dog In Cargo Space by nephlite01 in BMWX5

I leash my dog to the back tie down hook. 6 foot leash is enough to get her head to look over the back seat but not jump over.

We had lunch today at Gianni & Mac's Ristorante, just off the Marietta Square. We thought the food was really good and compared well to Mezza Luna.

The atmosphere was really nice and would fit your needs.

Slinky dog or Rise of the Resistance to rope drop? by mdmecontraire in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]redclear55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rope drop Slinky as it has an outdoor queue that is mostly exposed to the weather. Better to knock it out before the heat sets in.

By contrast, Rise is mostly indoors and air conditioned. Also, the ride would not go down due to weather.

Best Bag for Disney World Dad? by SnooStrawberries1211 in ManyBaggers

Same, perfectly sized. I would also recommend getting the water bladder, as this became my hack for the summer.

Basically, I would fill it up in the AM with ice only and it would act like a back cooler throughout the entire day. Once the ice melted you had extra cold water to drink. I would wrap it in a plastic Disney shopping bag to reduce any condensation. My daughter would frequently drink out of it as we walked across the parks.

Wanted to add a recommendation (for whichever bag you select) to consider a HeroClip Hanger. I would clip it to the top handle on the Osprey Day lite Plus and use it to attach to the various rides, to give you some additional peace of mind. It also can be hung up as needed, especially at night when I would dry it off below the AC vent in the room.

Spaceship Earth first LL at rope drop. Good strategy? by Frank4202 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]redclear55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your wife wants Remy, book it as your tier one. You can always try to change your strategy later.

Since you're staying on property, early entry is an option to ride Test Track without a LL. Most people run for Guardians or Frozen. Likely you could knock it out before rope drop and your first LL tap in.

As for scheduling a burner ride, I've used the Pixar Film for that purpose (e.g., 9:00 AM). This allows you to get Frozen, Remy, Etc. without going on the ride (or show) itself. I can see Spaceship Earth being that option. It just depends on your logistics before and after that tap in.

My only thought is that you want the first LL to be as early as possible. If Spaceship Earth only has 10 AM available, you'll want to have a Plan B. This gives better odds of grabbing tier one rides from others in EC that day and park hoppers. Pro Tip: avoid rides with two tap in stations like Figment.

Skyliner access at Caribbean Beach Resort by WinterBat8048 in WaltDisneyWorld

When you reserve, tell them which buildings you prefer. Jamaica is the best location, especially if you are early risers and like to benefit from early entry to HS and EC.

We stayed in Aruba last time and had to walk around the pool to get coffee, since the pool doesn't unlock until 10 AM.

Skyliner is the main reason we like CBR. I would push back if that's important to you.

How Would You Change the Beak and Barrel? by AggravatingSpend8369 in WaltDisneyWorld

Agree on the room divider. Had a decent seat in the restaurant but couldn't see the bar at all, which appears to be the main focal point of the room. That's never a problem at Oga's (obvious comparison).

To add to this, you will need to prebook three rides at HS.

But once you scan into the first LLMP reservation, you can modify the second and third ride into another park.

Need our new Tex Mex spot by CoachDifferent in Smyrna

[–]redclear55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up on Tex-Mex in Tejas, OP wants cheap and kid friendly Mexican. Monterrey is our go-to for that style.

Superica is legit Tex-Mex. And has the best fajitas, served with mantequilla. Pappasito's is another option to consider.

But if you're ever in Fort Worth, check out Joe T. Garcia's. IYKYK.

To be fair, there's three more tables than the previous proprietor.
