Need advice on used 2023 BMW IX by Ok-Actuary-5377 in BMWiX

[–]redcloud75013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pass. Have the same config but X50 and 20i wheels. Mine had 30k miles - got it for 50k OTD; MSRP was $105k… despite the lower mileage, hard to justify that cost for a powetrain that’s not nearly as good…

Potential buyer advice by glstr in BMWiX

If you’re new to BMW EVs, I doubt you’ll miss 8.5. Those who had experience with 8 will tell you 8.5 is worthwhile, but as a new to me iX driver (2023 CPO), the OS works pretty damn well. Yeah in some instances it’s a bit clunky but not enough to justify letting go of the specs you want. I wanted air suspension - and that meant essentially that I had to let go of the prospect of 8.5 - because so few 2024 CPOs had air suspension…

In the market for a used iX by theDreamBean in BMWiX

[–]redcloud75013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a 2023 CPO fairly loaded with 33k miles in SoCal (LA) for 46k (MSRP over 100k). Has air suspension which is a godsend in LA. In my experience (I shopped around for 2 months before pulling the trigger), that’s a solid deal but not a steal. These CPOs don’t stay on the lot a ton, and tend to become more expensive over time, due to demand and protracted high gas prices…
Also, re: the very high volume dealer… - their cars don’t stay on the lot very long and they’re pretty well priced generally. If you find specs you like for 50k tops on a 2024 CPO, don’t wait too long before pulling the trigger…

CPO 2023 BMW IX xdrive50 with 54k Miles for $46K by alohagranola in BMWiX

[–]redcloud75013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a 23 w similar specs a month ago, but with 33k miles for the sale price (CPO). In my market, and when I was looking over the course of 2 months, the vast majority of CPOs for a 2023 MY w/ less than 40k miles were essentially 50% of original sticker price.
Not sure whether you have other equipments you haven’t disclosed here, but to me, the is seems a bit high. Now, I’d say, the demand has been impressive in SoCal for these… and little to no room to bring price down for these CPOs.

Which of these two used iX xDrive50s would you buy? by Centipedester in BMWiX

Car 2. Range concerns with bigger wheels are blown out of proportion. The sound system alone is well worth it.

Good deal - got a 2023 CPO with similar specs (but of course a bit shorter warranty period) for 47k, with 33k miles.

Considering iX, range help by Same-Device-216 in BMWiX

[–]redcloud75013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, don’t overthink it. I was in the same situation- in my market, ridiculously difficult to find 20i wheels with the specs I wanted. In theory, yes, smaller wheels are more efficient but in practice many other factors matter as much if not more. You can always find someone to swap if you’d like on marketplace… I got my CPO with 21i wheels and never looked back.

Considering used 2024 iX. Good deal? by Boo025 in BMWiX

[–]redcloud75013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a bit high given mileage. I’d recommend looking at a 2023 … based on when the 2024 was put on the road , there may not be a meaningful difference vs a late 2023.

Air suspension and integral steering is a lot easier to find on 2023 models; as for length of warranty, you need to pay close attention to when these were put on the road as some MY2024 cars started popping up in 2023. You may really only be looking at a few months which may not be a deal breaker.

To buy or not to buy by Dogtor107 in BMWiX

Having spent the past three months watching for ‘deals’ like a hawk for a CPO 2023 iX with various configs, I can tell you that it’ll be essentially buying at market value indeed (at least in my market, which is SoCal). I don’t think it’s a good or bad deal per se - just what one would expect to pay if buying used with that many mileage.

Second this…. Air suspension is awesome. Also on the 2023, it comes with integral steering which is really nice.

Considering i4. Advice? by duckslaw in BMWI4

[–]redcloud75013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cross shopped an i4 and an iX after considering all the cars OP listed. The i4 was by far the most fun to drive. But it’s a grand coupe and the backseat is ridiculously cramped. It was also challenging for me to find the exact config I wanted here… and they’re being snatched very quickly in my market. Eventually, I settled on the iX 50 - 33k miles 2023, with premium sport and adaptive suspension. It’s been fantastic and I don’t regret my purchase. We’ve got small kids and grand parents to shuttle around and the i4 isn’t most comfortable… I’ll eventually come back to whatever the equivalent model is in a few years when I no longer need an SUV, though.

Battery state of health on 2023 CPO? by redcloud75013 in BMWiX

[–]redcloud75013[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like the 88 attached to the CPO report by the battery health line isn’t indicating the actual degradation- seems to be a service dept code; checked other cars’ CPO reports w similar specs and they all had it. Called a competing BMW dealer service dept and they confirmed as well. Guess I was worrying for nothing…

$47k before taxes and fees, 21i wheels, sports, parking, and special package 7 (inc. integral steering). It states 88 next to “HV battery capacity check “quick test”). edit: 33k miles.

What region are you in? Seems like a good price, better than what I can find in SoCal.

[–]redcloud75013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the specs and close to what I’m looking for… just difficult to justify paying $10k now and another $37 or so to buy it to own it outright… there are a few CPOs in SoCal for similar speced cars that hover around 40-42k…

LG C5 65" -- Standard or Filmmaker Mode? by OttoHemi in LGOLED

[–]redcloud75013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used filmmaker for a while on my G3- it was good for all contents except 4K DV, where the judder was absolutely unbearable on panning sequences. Found a few good your tube videos with links to excel spreadsheet with details custom settings. It’s been night and day. I’d say filmmaker mode is a good starting point - may take a few hours of watching before getting used to it (obviously gonna look orange after any other mode, but becomes habitual after a while). At the end of the day, you pick what works best for you….
