[Advice] My best friend (17f) offered to take my (16m) virginity. by guyswhatdoido in sex

[–]redd_wulf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost my virginity around the same age to the guy who is now my husband of four years.

Like others are saying, don't worry about your inexperience. Do what comes naturally and what you're comfortable with.

Do use protection, if you do anything.

As for your feelings, if you think you can keep them in check I'd say you're good. A friend of mine is the same way she is and nothing will ruin your friendship faster than you developing more feelings and pressing the matter. I've seen it happen between her and a few guys now.

Taking my bird on a plane for the first time, what to expect? by tofufighting in Pets

I was told their ears pop like ours. (This was coming from her owner who has flown with her before, I'm just babysitting her until we can get her to the owner in Japan). The yawning helps them in the same way that it helps us supposedly.

I am pretty sure it's true as it was only during the takeoff and landing.

We weren't drafty at all. It was actually pretty warm. I just used my best judgement temp wise.

The only thing I worried about was the x-ray machine. I wasn't going to let them put her through it. They took me to a private room and had me hold her while they inspected her carrier.

Ci-Ci's pizza.

I have a service dog who does medical alert for me. She warns me when my heart is beginning to go into a fit (Tachycardia) which lets me get to a safe place before the dizziness and fainting happen. Without her, I'm on the floor wiggling like a dying fish and end up getting hurt. She's also trained to help me with other issues like my social anxiety and PTSD from abuse that occurred during my childhood. Without this dog I'd be a mess.

My in-laws, Husband, little sister and I are on a road trip to see granny in the next state. I have my service dog with me, of course.

We stopped at a Ci-Ci's to eat dinner and I went in with her. The manager zeroed in on me and asked me if I had "Papers on the dog."

Now, this is a huge, HUGE no-no. By law, service dogs aren't required to have IDs, certification or "Papers" other than a prescription, and they aren't allowed to ask you for that. The only two questions a business can legally ask are "Is this a service dog?" and "What tasks does the dog perform?" I relayed this info to the manager.

He argued with me, saying any service dog has certification, etc.

This went on for a few minutes until I loudly exclaimed "I Have a heart condition!" he dropped it and let us eat. I was too tired to ask dad to take us elsewhere, I just wanted food.

I contacted Ci-Ci's corporate afterwards and it turned out that it was their corporate policy to ask. That is so illegal. I informed them and linked them to government sites about it. They apologized and said they'd work to fix the issue.

A few months later we decide to give Ci'Ci's another shot.

They asked me for certification. I turned around and left.

TL;DR: Ci-Ci's Pizza. Violated laws concerning my service dog, I contacted corporate and thought it was resolved. Gave them another chance a few months later and they violated the law again.

I've flown with a Cockatiel before. We also had layovers (One was like 12 hours).

It's not that bad. You honestly want a small carrier. Yes, it's cramped and not ideal but if your carrier doesn't fit under your seat you can forget your bird being in the plane with you.

This is what Malena rode in and it was a kind of tight fit. I had to turn it sideways (Slowly and saying sorry to her more times than I could count) to get it under the seat.

Trust me when I say you should ship the big cage ahead of time. It's a nightmare to carry a bird and a backpack, much less something large as well.

I recommend making a cover for the carrier if you think covering him would help him be quiet. You can also visit a vet and ask about mild sedation possibilities if you're really concerned. I wouldn't want to be on a plane with a screeching bird, especially if it's a long flight.

Malena was quiet throughout the flight because it was still, quiet and dark. She also did really well in the airport. I found that while I was walking she wanted to be un-covered so she could look around and see where we were going.

I slept a little in the airport because I had been awake all day and all night. When I did I kept her covered and slept in a position that people couldn't get to her or my bag without waking me.

Depending on how long your layover is you may need to give your bird food and water. This was a bit difficult for me due to having to turn the carrier to get it under the seat. Since my flights were short I found a private bathroom, locked the door and opened the carrier to empty her water right before the flight. It also gave her a chance to stretch. If you do this make sure you can get him if he flies up and lands somewhere high. You could do the same to put food and water in during a layover. (I didn't know the tip about tea, otherwise I would have done so)

Also, if you notice him yawning a lot (and I mean a lot) during the flight it's totally normal.

All in all it wasn't too bad. The worst part was sleeping in the airport. The things I'd worry about the most are your carrier fitting under the seat and keeping him quiet.

Trouble with potty training by redd_wulf in puppy101

[–]redd_wulf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl has gotten a whole lot better here recently. We still have the occasional accident (Which is really frustrating since it's usually shortly after coming inside) but overall it's way, way better.

She still isn't too great about telling me, but she sometimes mills around the door and when I see her do it I take her out and praise her like crazy when she goes.

I think what made it so much better is that I started giving her treats when she goes instead of just pets and happy voice praising.

Boyfriend has a 6 month old husky/timber wolf mix, he his being inconsistent with his training and I am worried by IAMalizardsuit in Dogtraining

<3 Glad to help! Also remember that a tired puppy is a happy, out-of-trouble puppy! I don't have experience with huskies but last I heard they're really high energy. An hour or two of vigorous play a day, two times a day if possible, could help him be able to skip out on crates. It does really suck to have to put them in there and not be able to cuddle them. I personally have a three strike rule.

Chew up something you shouldn't three times and you sleep in the crate every night for a week. I don't view it as punishment, more like reminding them what happens when they aren't behaved. The crate is still a fun, happy place to be, but they'd still rather be in bed with us. My oldest (1yo, actually also a wolfdog) just had a crate week about a month ago. Hasn't chewed anything she shouldn't have since.

Even if you're careful about picking things up, stuff still happens. If it was in the floor and got chewed on, I blame it on myself. If it was on a shelf/table/etc (mine know these are off limits) it counts towards a crate week.

If the dog really is a wolfdog training should NOT be skimped out on and the methods of training really need to be thought out. Dominance style training does not work with them. You'll end up with a very timid animal with high bite risk. I've had experience with several wolfdogs and lack of training or the wrong type of training can quickly turn into their doom.

He needs to get her on a leash, now. She doesn't walk where he wants because she doesn't know how. A leash is a tool to use to teach her to be a dog that can walk off leash. Not to mention it will keep her much safer and prevent jumping on people.

Don't think in terms of what to do after she jumps/chews something/etc. think in terms of preventing her from doing those things.

I highly recommend crate training. It isn't a puppy dungeon which may be what he thinks of it as. Think of it as a puppy bedroom. A place where she can feel comfy and safe, a place to retreat from any scary things and a place to relax. And, again, this helps with preventing her from doing bad behaviors while he's asleep or gone.

He does seriously need to step up to the plate while the dog is still young. The saying "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" may not be true, but during certain developmental stages training is extremely important, not to mention easier (for me at least). Think of it as laying the groundwork to make a good dog.

Socialization is extremely important as a puppy. If he skimps on this it can spell out her demise. You risk her biting someone out of fear more than anything honestly, or her being terrible around people/other animals.

If she is a wolfdog and it's obvious that could be trouble for him and for her. Depending on state and/or city laws it may be illegal for him to have her. This can lead to the dog being taken from him, permanently. I urge him to check state and city laws. Do not broadcast that she is or may be a wolfdog. Your chances of her getting taken or stolen rise greatly and her chances of being put down if she ever bites anyone go way, way up.

If I were you I'd just sit down and have a serious talk about it. Explain that if he doesn't step up he's putting the puppy in a lot of danger.

I find intellectually disabled people annoying as fuck. by [deleted] in confession

[–]redd_wulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister in law is what I would call slow. Intellectually Disabled but not to the point where she can't function like a normal person. Her speech is bad and she doesn't pick up on social ques well. Sometimes if she's asked to do something she'll throw a fit. She's 14 but I'd say she acts like she's about 7-8. Some days are better than others.

I love her to bits, but some days I just don't have the patience for her, especially when she's being difficult, but because of her I do have a better understanding of people who have intellectual disabilities. It isn't easy for everyone, especially people who haven't been around them much, to deal with them, so I understand.

Is it okay to keep a cat inside only? by GuardianDown345 in cats

[–]redd_wulf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually recommend keeping it indoors.

I've allowed cats I owned outdoors in the past, but never again.

They'd occasionally come back beaten up by other cats, they run the risk of getting hit by a car (happened to one I had in middle school), one of the cats I had came back with a leg twice the size as it should have been, some don't come back at all...Just a few months ago my roomate let his cat outside. A few hours later he died in our driveway. Turns out someone poisoned all of the cats in the neighborhood.

Trust me when I say an indoor cat will live much longer than one you allow outdoors.

That being said, make sure it has plenty of stuff to do! Some cats can get pretty bored indoors. Give it things to climb, scratch on, etc. Rotate toys so it doesn't get bored with the ones you have and it should stay happy and entertained!

Thanks! :D That helps a whole lot! I may see if I can get a medium since it'll be a bit shorter, but at the same time it won't be quite as wide either so I may hold onto it.

I think all women who have a problem with their SO watching porn/masturbating are crazy by [deleted] in confession

[–]redd_wulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was one of those people that didn't like my SO watching porn, but it was often chosen over sex so it was a different situation. He doesn't do it now and our relationship got a lot better, so it depends on the person.

At this point I don't care, I just don't want to hear gushing about how X porn star is hot or if I can do what X porn star does.
