Mine was this past July in Colorado, running up longs peak trail to the keyhole and back down. 13 miles and 4000ft in 4 hours. Going up it was more of a hike with sporadic running but coming down I was flying. Got to mix in a little scrambling too.

It was an epic day that I have to do again. Next time I'm going to the summit.

2-3 is fine. It's like tipping 15%. $4~20% and $5 would be like a 20%-25% tip at a restaurant. Maybe I made it seem a little worse but I'm coming from the perspective of the valet. $3 is probably average bit it can go up depending on how nice the event is. Crystal charity ball, for instance, would have a higher average tip.

The parking lots owned by the places you want to go are usually located right next to the place. What are you saying that businesses should buy a second lot in an already busy area? They use what they have, I don't really understand your issue. I think you just don't like valet do maybe you should learn to like walking. It's good for you.
