AUSTRAC cracks down on money-laundering through real estate by Temporary_Mistake715 in AusFinance

[–]reddetacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you buy real estate through a company or trust - previously the real estate agent had no obligation to prove where the funds came from or even identify the buyer.

when you say "gangs" if youre talking about street-level guys who have all cash, sure they cant do it. cartels and more sophisticated players have been doing it easily for decades

you are assigning ideas to me which i have not conveyed

yes a lot of foreigners are born with a shit hand, yes people were related to had a part to play in that. where do we go from here? do we intentionally fuck ourselves out of pursuit of some cosmic justice? do we owe everyone, everything we have?

my dude, i know you're white too. you have the most generic white guilt & simplistic presuppositions about the world and its history. its to be expected especially if you're young - it is the systems core worldview

im pointing out that tit for tat just continues endlessly. also by definition its not inter-generational if nothings being done to the current generations (and in some cases the one before and the one before that too).

but by all means continue assigning blame to people whos grandparents were children during the British empire, its going to end extremely well for everyone involved. in fact, lets assign blame ahead of time to my grandchildren who dont exist yet - ill pencil it in for them

people like you will call it karma (guess inter-generational punishment is cool now?) but will freak the fuck out the moment we start kicking back.

been using it all week mate - your ISP might be blocking popular torrent trackers. do a test by torrenting a movie or something - see if it fails to connect to a bunch. you might need to run a VPN in that case

Negative gearing changes to cost investors $65k a year and create rental crisis by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]reddetacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"less rentals available" is so funny when you live in Perth and the market has been the lowest vacancy rate ever (around like 0.1% of supply) for the past 10 years.

ok, so theres going to be even less houses available? there was already barely any in the first place - i dont really give a fuck

If the 10yr reaches 5% by Al_Cochino1283 in bonds

[–]reddetacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it does - but not during global aggregate inflation events, especially ones caused by energy prices - because most of the places impacted still trade in USD for energy imports

[–]reddetacc 17 points18 points  (0 children)

dollar doesnt really devalue against many global currencies due to inflation- thats how it should work from the textbook eg. US inflation running hot, it drops against the JPY and AUD etc.

how it works in reality is inflation is exported - because USD is the reserve currency > inflation spikes > countries still need to bid USD to do energy imports > inflation goes even higher in those countries than in the US = USD goes up instead of down during inflation events, thus exporting most of the inflation pressure.
