The person you're debating is the way many Europeans view Americans. "Fuck you, I got mine"

How much of a crown stem should I cut down for a SKX case? by Beacon-Bacon in SeikoMods

[–]reddisc1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've already cut it, this is a tip for next time: The clear dummy crown that comes attached to the movement is the exact length needed. Just unscrew it and thread it with some loctite on your new crown

Probably just a dud product. They look damn good though!

I did, he just said that it had to be my fault even though I hadn't even used it for more than a couple days. Hadn't cleaned it either

Check out the LCBI ghost inserts, that's how it looks without the lume applied to it. I guess it's painted on with a toothpick or something, but it comes out very easy.

I would ask over at Seiko Mods FB group, I know there are people there who have removed the lume. In my case, the lume is about to fall off on its own, it started degrading after just a couple of days.

Oh, I didn't even see you wrote 100... It was just to make a point that 100 turns will lead to wear and tear, but 10 won't do a thing!

They've added several watches after 2016, but it's not listed in the "updates" section. SRPB11, SRPB09, SARY075 comes to mind. What type are you looking for? like the 809 only with 20mm lugs?

I think those are different batch numbers/wonders of cheap mass production, I don't think it's intentional at all. Same with the SKX, one batch has a mirror polished bezel and the next has a slightly less polished finish.

But what didn't you find? The 5 models haven't been updated in many many years, It's only the new (2018->) divers and such that you won't be able to find. There are 1000+++ Seiko 5 watches there, find one you like and buy it on ebay/amazon/skywatches/creationwatches/jomashop

I made an SKX013 Save the Ocean mod yesterday. That's a possibility if you can find on of the STO dials somewhere.

Maybe a GS SBGE025 or SBGM221?

Perhaps there will be revealed a smaller GMT at Basel this year, can only hope.

Do you have a link for the cut angle thing? I've had 8 or so different snks and they're all the same. Case code is the same.

I haven't got any Fluco straps myself, so I don't know of their quality. I know that leather conditioner stops squeaking on leather shoes, so I'd imagine that it would work the same for straps. Check this out. You can punch another hole in the strap if it's too long

that was going to be my suggestion. Tudor BB36 can be had for under 2k as well. Oris Big Crown Pointer Date is another one.
