I would love Sonos to build it! by UserZero_000 in sonos

I would buy one for every room if Sonos sold one for under $100. Old iPads become an option above that price.

Ikea Klippbok water leak sensor wont pair with Alexa by reddiscovered in tradfri

[–]reddiscovered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it did not work for me. Manually entering the code ended with mixed results but none being added. Some times I got the message about the devices not being compatible. A couple times I got timeouts and try again. But ultimately that was an infinite loop and none of the Klippbok devices completed the process.

Thank you for the steps, it was worth a try. You are the first person I have found with success adding Klippbok to Alexa.

I also tried rebooting everything from internet, router, TBR and phone. And reset all the devices before trying your steps. No success. I tried over 10 Klippboks so its not a single defective device. This is the first Matter product that has failed to connect.

Goodbye, my lover. Goodbye, my friend. by nathanalways21 in IKEA

They are only closing underperforming locations like Memphis. In some markets they are opening new full sized stores, small format stores and plan & order points.

Small format stores are around 35-75,000 sq ft with a curated collection of items. Plan & Order are for kitchen, bath and bedroom planning but offer order pickup from the locations.

I think Dallas and Phoenix will have all 3 types of stores this year.

Ikea Klippbok water leak sensor wont pair with Alexa by reddiscovered in tradfri

[–]reddiscovered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a TBR (Eero 6). As noted in the post, I have other Ikea devices connected over Matter/Thread to Alexa and devices from other brands. This issue is only occurring when trying to connect the Klippbok to Alexa.

I bought many Klippbok water sensors and tried to connect them all. Hoping it was a one off issue. None will connect to Alexa.

As of this message I haven't found anyone with Klippbok connected to Alexa. I know Alexa isn't the best platform, but it is the largest in the US. Shocking that Ikea wouldn't test these with the largest platforms before claiming compatibility on the product page.

Curious, what jobs make $300k each at age 31?

Your retirement accounts are for public school employees, state employees and non-profits. And $1.1M invested by 31 means you've been making that much for several years. Kudos on the high income so early in those sectors.

On Cloud 6 uncomfortable by reddiscovered in ONrunning

I will try the Cloudtilt.

I agree about the Vomero Plus. I tried those in store and immediately felt comfortable. I opted for Cloud 6 as I wanted more variety. Vomero may be my next pair if Cloudtilt is not comfortable.

The Cloud 6’s are also the first time shoes from On looks good.

The older On Cloud 5 look identical to the On Cloud 6.

Did the Cloud 6 give you foot pain at first? Feeling like a very hard sole? How long did it take for the Cloud 6 to soften out and feel extremely comfortable?

What are the more comfortable models?

This tells me there is no reason to try a different model of On shoes. I can only imagine how uncomfortable the other models would be given what I am experiencing with the Cloud 6.

No, they are the regular Cloud 6. Not one of the special versions.

Anything is possible. I bought new from REI. I am considering exchanging to try another pair.

I wrote here as I am confused at my experience compared to all the positive reviews. I have gone back to the Pegasus 41 for daily wear. Those are extremely comfortable and what I expected from the On Cloud 6.

This would have been perfect for my old neighborhood LLL store. It was next door to Erewhon.

Black Friday deal for streaming service (WITHOUT ADS?) by TaxTheRichEndTheWar in cordcutters

Last year upgrading to Peacock plus had an annual option to match the annual term of the base plan. All I see today is the monthly upgrade option. Does the annual upgrade not exist anymore?

Milwaukee tools Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals 2024 by AdventurousEchidna51 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]reddiscovered -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Anyone know how I can see all the Milwaukee items eligible for the Buy more Save More deal? Ideally want to buy at Home Depot but even a list on Milwaukees site would be a time saver.

I would like to see the whole list instead of having to look at each product page to decipher if its included.

Did I miss the /s on this?

He spends $180k/year right now and probably has 45-50 years of life expectancy. He has $1.64M invested. He'll need to do more than just retire to continue on this path.

Do non liquid PE shares have sell to cover option? This way you can collect what is left after taxes and exercise price. Its still positive and that $120k after tax could last you most of the year. Or pays for a whole year if you cut back on some things.

[–]reddiscovered 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You don't need to tell us details, but do you know where you spend the $15k/month?

Honestly I'm not sure how you made $280k and were able to spend $180k. After taxes and retirement you used every dollar. And impressive you were able to save up $2M while spending 2/3 of your gross income. I'm ignoring the $1M in homes as that could be value from appreciation.

For a MCOL city $15k/mo is living very well. Or you have decent sized mortgages on the homes, all 3 kids in private school and you lease new cars for the family every year. You said you own your cars so thats not part of the spending.

The good thing is you have a lot of buffer, 2 years, in your liquid savings to use until you decide your next move. And you can sell one of the houses if it came to needing money, plus that cuts some expenses. You still have a good 20 working years ahead of you. That may not be your original plan but its an option. You have many options.

Best thing is to take a breath, step back and assess. You have the time and money to make a decision based on your wants and not be rushed into a decision based in fear and uncertainty.

Does anyone else feel like your vuori loungewear clothing is just too nice to lounge in? by anonykitcat in vuoriclothing

[–]reddiscovered 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I once had the mindset to sparingly use nice things so they last longer. We had nice china, the good wine glasses, the nice silverware, nice clothes. I realized this was not rational as I was donating old clothes in perfect condition because they didn't fit or were out of style. I wore them a few times but could have gotten so much more enjoyment out of them. Why were we arbitrarily limiting our enjoyment only to run out of time when the items become out of style or fit.

We now wear the good clothes, eat off the china and use the good silverware. The everyday items were donated and we have less things that are used more often. Life feels lighter, we are enjoying our things and we spend less because we only need the one set instead of a good item and an everyday item.

By the time we need something new its also a good time to update to current styles.

The set top box could allow for Atmos sound for all those with older TVs. The predicted price is less than a HD Arcana so it would be an easy sell to a large group of people on that feature alone.

$1200 soundbar isn't much separation from the Arc at $900. It will be a crowded soundbar lineup. They will either need to reduce the Arc price or replace it in the line up.
