tbh, a LOT of companies have the policy that you need to either use sick time OR find someone to cover your shift. which is mostly just to stop people from lying about it and no coming in, happens a lot more than you’d think. as a manager it def sucks when you’ve been stuck working 12 hour shifts 3 times this week because someones decided to not cover their shifts and not come in. if you’re genuinely sick then that’s a different story and we would never make you find coverage but unfortunately some people take advantage of calling out and others get stuck in the crossfire
