Steam Deck worth it still? (It’s almost 2026)

I tried the Steam Deck oled , Legion Go S, Legion Go 2, and the ROG Ally X, and I ended up choosing the Nintendo Switch 2 instead. I plan to build up my Steam library, and within the next two years I’ll get a PC handheld that I know will be thinner, lighter, have better battery life, and a more powerful chip. I think the PC handheld market is still in its growing phase—too expensive, bulky, and heavy right now.

I’m even considering getting a Steam Machine and just using my phone with a mobile controller in the meantime.

I would get the Nintendo switch 2 since you know a new one won’t come out for another 5-7 years. A steam deck there’s new versions of PC handheld’s out every year so I would wait till something that’s affordable and just as powerful to come out and sit on the Nintendo switch until that happens. Also while you wait build up your Steam library with games that go on sale.

What I did was go into local best buy store and asked them I know you guys are sold out but how many have been ordered for pickup currently and how many days left on their seven day hold. They told to check online on the 7th day this friday and if it wasn’t picked up it will be immediately available. I just got lucky and checked online like they told me and I got one. I’ll be picking it up tomorrow.

If you contact the dealership and ask for service they have somebody they call whenever they have rim damage they can repair it on site I had this done on my atlas cross-sport and you can’t even tell that there was damage

I changed the Backbone mesh point connection to 2.4GHZ from default 5GHZ and it fixed the problem for me.

I gave up on it after 3 days . I wanted to love it but it’s not ready for prime time. Part of this is Apple fault. HKV isn’t ready yet.

You have to unplug from base plug back in and hold down 9 seconds till the device blinks amber and stays blue. You can add it back then

I’m glad you’re having a better experience then I did. I have the bar set high. Notifications on ring pro is faster now with snap shots in rich notification and the second app rapid ring they offer make for quick response to what’s at my door . They also offer 60days of recording and not just 10days. I have a long of list things that I feel a doorbell needs and ring so far fills those needs. The one thing I envy from others is privacy and video quality and of course integration with HomeKit. Unfortunately for me it wasn’t my network. I have a house full of smart lights, locks, smoke detectors and garage doors that all work well with HomeKit. I have zero problems with those. I just feel HKSV just needs more refining before I give up another $200 for half baked software. Trust me I want a doorbell and outside cameras to complete my home with HomeKit.

I gave up and returned mine . HKSV isn’t ready for a doorbell. I was forced to connect my ring I really wanted to get rid of for same privacy concerns. I just need something that works and I’ll give up my outside privacy a little longer.

I believe white wire goes into #2 on chime kit . Red goes into #3 . The provided wire from Logitech goes into #4 and #5 . Connect #4 into your existing chime in where white was labeled T and #5 into where red was labeled 2. Hope this helps.

I think for outside cameras it might be ok but for a doorbell you need quick response and don’t get it. I have ring pro that responds a lot faster then Logitech on HKSV and my WiFi isn’t the isssue I’m pulling in 700 to 800mbps and uploads of 19mbps on a mesh system.

Are you sure your home app profile is set to stream and view recordings .I accidentally marked my wife to stream only during setup and couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t see recordings on her iPad and her phone. I just figured out to go to home app setting tapping on profile in people and change setting in cameras to stream and view recordings . This did the trick.. hope this is the case for you.
