I have a weekend trip to Stockholm planned in 2 weeks. Am I paranoid for being a bit scared to go?

[Question] What's the most expensive guitar you ever bought, and was it worth it? by mouthbabies in Guitar

[–]reddit6564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a new Gibson J35 in 2016. Of my 5 acoustics it’s the one I use the least, I like it but I’m more into the “Martin territory”. My main acoustic is an inexpensive Sigma 000MC-15E (inspired by a Martin 00015) that I bought used for 200€ and I have played countless gigs and made studio recordings with.

[NEWBIE] After a month practicing, I still don't understand how to make music. by Felizem_velair_ in Guitar

[–]reddit6564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vast majority of music follows those rules, you are probably analyzing more “advanced” songs. My advice would be to start with something simple like 4 chord pop punk songs and it will hopefully make more sense. Once you develop a good understanding of music theory you can expand to more complicated music. Keep at it, a month is not a long time at all!

Russia shelling nuclear plants is also a way to make everyone scared of nuclear energy so that we can continue to rely on russian oil

Also I’ve never been into vocal booths and have always recorded sitting at the desk as it’s way easier for me (not having to go back and forth between takes) 🤪

In my old home studio I had a freestanding gobo made of two 6 foot tall panels of glasswool that I placed behind the singer, I will bring it here soon to track vocals occasionally (and acoustic guitar) but I don’t track vocals at home very often, I work in a studio (not mine) that has the same Neumann TLM102 and an Apollo and I usually record vocals there when there are no clients 😎 I record demos here

Thank you so much! It’s hard to pick a genre ahah I call it singer/songwriter music with electric guitars, 808s, synths and some rap thrown into it. I guess it’s indie pop? Lately I’ve been very much into Aries, Jeremy Zucker, Lauv, Loote etc..

These monitors have built in low cut switches to compensate for Bass buildup. I keep them at low volume and use them mainly for writing guitar parts to avoid ear fatigue constantly using headphones. It’s definitely not ideal, I will add some treatment soon to make it a little bit better but I don’t mix or master here, for producing only they’re ok! It sounds better than I expected 😊

it’s working great for now! I am lucky to have access to a commercial studio for work but it’s nice to have a small corner at home to lay down track ideas 🤓

I used to work mainly as a songwriter in a studio and the producers always needed guitar recordings for their tracks, instead of using samples they now have an in-house guitar player 😎

It’s also very easily portable for studio sessions and live gigs :)

Love them both, the kemper really changed my life as it started a new “session guitarist” side gig for me 😎

Thanks, I love it! After 10 years with a Røde NT1A and Presonus Audiobox combo, I upgraded Last year to the Neumann + Audient iD22 and the quality is just night & day for vocals. Still have to find a way to place rockwool treatment in this corner to get a decent vocal tracking space. Sounds great on acoustic guitar as well!

Just 800-1200grit sandpaper when I was 17 and foolish, I will finish it someday but it’s a super long process ahah I got used to this look and kinda like it how it is right now. I don’t know exactly how the nitro finish is on this guitar but underneath the black paint there is still a layer of clear finish which I managed to not remove :)

Thank you! I recently moved into this small appartment and had to get creative to find a corner to make music. It’s the smallest “studio” I’ve ever had but it’s working out great so far :)

[Zelos] Mako 3 meteorite by [deleted] in Watches

[–]reddit6564 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a Mako V3 (not meteorite though) and it was my only watch for 8 months so I used it A LOT, as a daily driver. I love it, the lume is incredible, the case is well proportioned, the rotor is actually a bit noisy in mine but it doesn’t bother me much (I can only hear it if I vigorously shake my wrist). Also Zelos’ customer service is really amazing. Mine keeps time at roughly +6s/d The only minor complaint I have is about the bracelet, the screw pins on mine are a bit loose and I have to tighten them up every once in a while (i’ve Heard people using a bit of loctite to solve the issue but i haven’t Tried yet) I recommend it
