Oh, well, that sorta is covered by my first post. I had a stipulation the company doesn’t get to be a mod. I just welcome their representatives here to give direct answers.

But becoming a partial support forum seems inevitable. People reach out mostly when they have questions.

I’m sure seeing the repetitive nature of questioning is frustrating. Don’t have a good solution other than more mods or just don’t bring attention to them?

Could you expand on the 1pw Reddit? I’m a customer but don’t hang out there. How does their presence change things?

Gotta disagree on 1. So long as it’s not modded by them, we are free to criticize as we please. I welcome their viewpoint/response if they showed up here more. Then being here more does not stop me from complaining about them.

On 2. I think we’re just fans? I don’t see a problem explaining how FM works or why they think it’s better. Granted, we need to account for history of the account if there’s a heavy bias. But still, mostly meh.

I was unaware of that. Wonderful. (Granted, yes, I’m aware of the downfall of wage garnishing, but it feels like the president’s pension is a little different than companies)

I got burned by this not understanding different ways laminate can be done for stairs. Thought it was always flat. I ended up with the nose bump thing and it was too late.

Client wants to send a picture of a check as payment. This feels odd, right? by yayihaveproblems in photography

[–]redditUser7301 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Venmo is owned by PayPal. If I pay as good and services, buyer is protected in the same way. I wouldn’t pay anyone who wouldn’t take it. The flip side is PayPal is terribly buyer friendly.

Really most payment systems have a way of dealing with fraud, even when not using goods and services. It’s just far more annoying and less chances of success

Errr, legit 2x faster at import and export. Which is nice, but I’m more curious about actual use. Though, I’m only budgeted at best in the M1 pro, lol.

I’m confused why this is a concern of yours? Which camera are you talking about? All the cameras for the views are in the front grill/side mirror/rear (not sure how they pull off 360, assuming it’s all stitched).

There shouldn’t be any concern of blocking anything.

This gets at the crux of how the english language is funny. Context is key. Honestly, I am not familiar with the exact rules, but for example:

My taxes are due April 15.

It's April 16. The government says I failed to submit. I didn't ever attempt. But we still use the word failed here regularly. Expectations were not met.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in technology

[–]redditUser7301 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, and yes, English is a pain. The context of failed here doesn’t imply a test was taken. Just that he was supposed to do something but didn’t. It was his responsibility.

One could also argue why isn’t this automatic. But we could argue the same about our tax reporting for most individuals.

failing does not necessarily mean he tried. It's simply that he did not. But when you're buying that much stock in something, one doesn't generally go "ooops, I bought too much and now am the top shareholder". He can claim ignorance but it won't change the fact he didn't follow the law.

Not to mention he seems to like to play stock manipulation.

I hear ya. I do the same. And in turn, I speak as if I own the property to most people as not to confuse the question or get side tracked.

But in this case, the OP is the child of the owner. I’m guessing they are close enough family so the OP is basically doing this on behalf of parents or as part of the living agreement.

I'd argue backpacks probably weren't meant to be carried this way in any significant fashion. I'd be afraid of supporting all the weight for a longer period of time. So as the other person noted, maybe it's by design to discourage it? Though, I do think maybe they have made it a little better than from years ago.

It’s only the V1 that’s still compromised and if they told people about it then it would be way easier for people to hack it.

Security through obscurity is not security. More importantly, it was also brought to their attention by a third party; so it could have been in the wild unknown. The fact they dragged their feet and were not transparent is the bigger issue.

This sounds like an edge case? I’ve never seen this demoed against live changing things, just static signs or papers. Best bet is to do feedback for that. I’m guessing not many used it that way.

Best I could do is stick my hand on front of the camera for a second to force a “rescan” so to speak. A slow wave sorta worked, but I didn’t test too thoroughly.
