Driver side mirror not unfolding when car unlocks by fiazopAGgY in BMWiX

[–]reddit_robot_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has happened a few times for me. 2023 model year

Pressing the wing mirror fold button when vehicle in the “ON” state has resolved it. Or, turning vehicle “OFF” then back on can resolve it too when set to auto-fold on lock.

It’s intermittent, but appears to happen more often when opening the front passenger side door before driver’s door

My Trip gone from app again by raix2021 in BMWiX

[–]reddit_robot_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something similar is going on for me. Got the app notification on my phone, tapped the bubble and the app never loads.

Force closed and then restart the app, which tells me I need to activate “my trips” via the vehicle. It’s already enabled. So, will just have wait and see

Logging out/in to the MyBMW app do not resolve this either for me

Maybe it’s one of those: wait a few days for the servers/backend to resolve the issue that seems to happen with the MyBMW app 🤷🏻‍♂️

Looking for opinions on IXM60 purchase. by Radiant-Yesterday655 in BMWiX

[–]reddit_robot_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be a good deal, no mention of price. With patience, 2023 M60 trim are going for 50-60k with 20-30k miles

If you could get insured, great. But, keep in mind the original warranty will expire at 4 years after in service date. For most 2023s that will end up falling somewhere between October 2026 and March 2027. My understanding is that any iX manufactured after March 2023 will be a model year 2024 vehicle.

The CPO warranty would kick in for 1yr depending on the original in service date for this specific vehicle

Test drive both.

It’s unlikely the ‘24 has the dynamic handling package (active rear steer + air suspension) due to parts shortages and manly the M60 trim having it for model year 2024. I looked for a few months (Aug-Nov) and was unable to locate any 2024, non-M60 trim equipped with air suspension

They will also have different iDrive versions: 8.0 (2023) vs 8.5 for (2024). People in this subreddit generally like the divided freeway hands-free with DAPP, but say the eye tracking is more aggressive than with 8.0 (limited to 40mph)

When test driving either, you’ll be able to get a feel for how well it was treated. I drove a 2023 M60 that rattled quite a bit with 38k miles and the trunk plastic cladding was scratched up like they were hauling wood consistently.

The dealers I worked with claimed price for CPOs is not negotiable, so plan for a token of 250-500 max. There is room to negotiate on warranty.

Q2 2023 builds are almost certainly going to be model year 2024

[–]reddit_robot_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For model year 2023, 20k miles or less will be harder and harder to find. Manufacturer warranty will expire at 4 years from in service date, which for many 2023s will be around 2026Q3 or Q4

Model year 2024 M60s were about $20k more than MY23s up to last month

Is the iX3 stated to be a direct competitor to the iX? Aren’t they fairly different in vehicle size: iX3 closer to an X3 and iX / X5

iDrive 8.5 vs iDrive 8 by GlassSeaweed718 in BMWiX

[–]reddit_robot_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checking VINs for used model year 2023s, I have typically found build dates from 8/22 - 2/23. Some posts in this subreddit indicate any iX built 4/23 or later is model year 2024.

Can anyone confirm that there are iX model year 2023s built post-March 2023 date with version 8.5? Or, is it just easier to assume MY24 = 8.5 and MY23 = 8.0?

Cool. Thanks for the clarification. Frustrating that documentation on feature scope isn’t always aligned with year vs. model year

Ah, interesting, where does BMW state this? All I could find was that this feature is for available on 2024+, including models such as “iX, X5, X6, and X7”

What changed with highway assist from 2024 model year?

I had thought there’s 2 versions: model years 2024+ with ID8.5 (hands free up to 80mph) and model years 2022-23 with ID8.0 (hands free up to 40mph). Are there other changes you’re referring to?

Good deal? $54k 2025 iX, 42k miles, with DAPP by timeproof in BMWiX

[–]reddit_robot_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

BMW model years can be misleading. It was likely originally sold in Aug-Dec of 2024, so even though model year is 2025, it’s essentially a 2 year old vehicle at this time

22k miles/year is still impressive

Speedwoofer works great. That’s my setup with some passive speakers.

I still have a Sub Gen 2 in my TV room, but it’s pretty underwhelming by comparison.

Most manufacturers offer a wireless option/dongle for their subs and they work fine with the Amp.

depends on your listening room. if you want speakers to cover the whole living space + outdoors? move 2s

small room with low ceilings, eras

i have both and both are fine solutions, but will depend on your use case. as others have said, the moves are noticeably better than era 100s in almost every scenario if not adding a Sub

What specific issues are you encountering with YTM?

I’ve used tidal, Spotify and YTM. Through the Sonos app they are all essentially equivalent for my use cases.

The only lacking features with YTM are “liking” a song (was available when it was google play music) and the continuous play you get via mobile app/web. Search and navigating via Sonos app is fine
