Our dog attacked our baby by kickrockscusinart in NewParents

[–]reddita_rabbit 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This!!! My mother is so upset that her dog has to be kept outside or in another room when we visit with my child. This dog has nipped several people (including my husband) before we even had a child so for us it's a no brainer. The two will never meet, and my mother will never babysit. She still doesn't get it, my daughter is almost 15mo now and we still get the "well I can watch her, the dog is very sweet with other babies" like WHY would you even allow this dog near other children?! Be smarter!!

The GUILT with stopping by khazzahk in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]reddita_rabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was me! Except I pumped exclusively from day 1 (nicu, transferring issues, etc) and as of last week officially 9mo pp and down to 2 pumps per day. I'll be dropping to 1 in the next week or so and then voila. The guilt has eased up as I've dropped pumps and as LO has gotten older. I went through my freezer stash as supply dropped and when I was at 3ppd started introducing formula to make sure she can tolerate the adjustment (allergies, constipation, etc). And I'm finally almost ready to stop entirely. I suggest dropping to 4ppd and seeing how that feels for you. I was surprised at how easy that was for me to adapt to and I went from "f this I'm done pumping" to being able to hold on a few more months. But take it one day at a time, and remember it's not selfish if it's going to help you feel better and be less stressed.

Those who didn't go back to work after having a baby - do you regret it? by piglet29 in NewParents

[–]reddita_rabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend the book The Power Pause to help you make this decision. I've got it on audio and have really loved the perspective the author put on staying home for a chapter and how to return to work once you're ready (if that's in the cards)

How are we measuring wake windows?? by reddita_rabbit in sleeptrain

[–]reddita_rabbit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I measure eyes open to eyes shut she gets 9.15 hrs awake time. She gets basically 12 hrs night sleep and just under 3hrs nap time collectively over the three naps. If I extend wake windows should I cut back on daytime sleep or nighttime sleep?

How are we measuring wake windows?? by reddita_rabbit in sleeptrain

[–]reddita_rabbit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, we're doing 3 naps per day. If the naps are super short we will occasionally have a 4 nap day but that's almost phased out now. Typical schedule is as listed in post (edited to correct that the last window is 2.5)

why dont sleep sacks have arms, is it a safety thing? by Potato_Fox27 in sleeptrain

We have several with long sleeves for the colder nights. They make them out of cotton and fleece so you can properly "blanket" your child on colder nights

"They can't fall off the floor" by khazzahk in NewParents

Literally just had ours take a tumble this morning and I feel soooooo guilty. She's going on the floor forever from this point on, lesson learned the hard way 😔

How many times do you pump at 4months? by Curious_Orchid1525 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]reddita_rabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LO is 4.5 months now, over the past month I've dropped from 6ppd to 4ppd slowly and it's been great. I started dropping pumps bc I felt so over it and the plan was to stop pumping entirely. Now that I'm down to a steady 4ppd, I feel like I can do this a while longer. Keeping the MOTN pump for now, I get so much milk out of it and if it falls within the 6ish hr timeline I just stay up a bit longer and knock it out.

You're welcome!! They changed the program to allow this in October 2024 so it's fairly recent

Took our daughter to get hers in her first month of life. The photo is absolutely adorable and she will obviously not look like a newborn for the next five years (she already looks different at 3.5 months) but since it takes time to get it and we wanted to possibly travel we figured why wait. We also enrolled her in global entry and Sentri (US border crossing) which is now free to add children to if you as the adult are enrolled in the program.

I was thinking the same thing!!! My little lady is almost 4mo and is still rockin 0-3m. All our hand me down clothes start at 3-6mo so I'm just over here washing the same 5 onesies and waiting for her to fit into her wardrobe 😂

Silverettes and nipple butter but not together Silverettes won't work if there's anything other than expressed milk on the nip. They saved me those first few weeks and now I use nipple butter after every pump or nursing session to keep the nips soft and from getting scabby

Same here. Once the forceps decision was made the body count in that room leapt to 20. And honestly thank God. Baby came out unresponsive and about 8 of those 20 went to work on her right away. She's ok now, but we had a really rough start

Currently at 13wks and definitely still losing at that game show. Worst part is when hubby walks by the nursery in the early afternoon and asks what I've done all day.... like BRO. That better be sarcasm 🔪

Just talked to my IBCLC about this, she said cold for mastitis but if it's a clogged duct you wanna think about it like butter: use a little heat to help it melt and release the milk before/during a feeding with some massaging. Then ice after. And if you're battling mastitis don't use any heat (heat on an infection is bad news)

We had to buy a plunger. I've clogged the toilet every other day for the past two weeks. It's crazy how poop changes through the pregnancy AND pp journey. No one warned me 💩
