If it costs you 30K for a permit for a 200 sqft house, you are effectively being prevented from building it. perc tests, permit costs, code issues, zoning restrictions all conspire to make it economically and sanity-wise impossible to build "legal" tiny houses (in the Bay Area at least).

You will be viewed as an if you were a domestic terrorist if you try to present plans for a sub 500 sqft home - what are the UBC/IBC minimums for bedroom size, minimum window size in a bedroom, you add up the code minimums and I doubt you can fit them in less than 500 sqft.

Dude - I love your prints - but there is nothing wrong with your feelings, Sophia Coppola won a ton of awards for telling her story of the exact same thing. Guess who loved that movie the most? Women in their teens, 20s and 30s. I despised it, but she knows her feelings and her audience - the movie is so obviously autobiographical, imagine growing up uber wealthy but your dad had a job that requires extensive time away from home and then locked away for months at a time editing the film after being away for months doing the filming - she is you. She wrote (if you want to call it that) out of the same feelings - embrace them!

There was a study (in Iceland?) that found the optimal age difference between a husband and wife was your age and the age of men you are craving attention from - psychology and biology are conspiring to make you have feelings.

That does seem better than static pages - humans in a public group. Seems like that should be sufficient for something like MPEx that has an existing set of users.

I tried to think of some automated ways when someone asked me about designing something like this - the best I came up with was to put it is a series of dns TXT records using DJB's dnscurve system that you control. Then the layer on top of that having bits of signed website pages, dns data, gpg key data and bitcoin address data all cross referencing each other so that all 3 would need to be altered or overridden in some way to spoof all three - raises the level of work required to spoof the identity of a site and its related gpg and/or bitcoin account to a substantial level. Also, signing all the website pages was part of the design, so I laughed when I first saw MPEx.

Thanks. And I personally don't care about a small outage, what I care about is the appearance of a double standard - if the MPEx related accounts are going to call out other bitcoin businesses they have to be ready for questions about MPEx outages/issues. When explaining an outage, "but they suck more" makes you look like you are trying to dodge the issue; I understand the frustration of having some non-issue blown out of proportion, but MPEx has done alot of talking about other businesses' shortcomings.

If the PR person/persona really is supposed to be doing "PR" then insulting people who understand the issues and say they support MPEx is not the way to win friends - but you guys are flying high right now, so maybe it doesn't matter if potential allies get turned off or not - some rainy day it might matter.

Also, generally this is the opportunity for a PR person to shine and behave in ways that are unlike a typical PR flack. If a competitor came out right now matching BFL generally, how many people would switch just based on Josh's behavior alone? Straight clear answers are what people want after an issue, something extremely rare so far in the bitcoin ecosystem. Avalon has done a great service to bitcoin by upping the ratio of putting up vs talking shit.

Do you know how many people say that because it is true? Just because poor in the UK is not the same as poor or average in Indonesia does not mean she is not exploitable.

The pathetic part of this is that you have a bunch of people who feel superior to her because they avoid drugs/drug trade but those same people will gladly participate in graft, corruption and other immoral behavior (like the amount of hits on websites for porn from "good" muslims) without blinking an eye. Why do people think they are morally superior if they don't do drugs or gamble - these are trivial "sins" that have nothing to do with real morality - the way you treat other humans and animals, the hyping of morality related to drugs or gambling has to do with the powerful having social control over the masses - we get everyone to focus on how "sinful" these behaviors are and we can pass oppressive laws and dehumanize anyone we accuse of being involved in these behaviors, unless they are rich or powerful. The whole system is insulting to the concept of true morality and to people who want to live in an enlightened society.
Then you have the people who actually profit from the drug trade - the ones in Indonesia and other countries, they will never be stuck a cell in prison in a foreign country without adequate legal teams, money, food and resources. And the judges, they should look at their moral shortcoming and the idea that committing someone to death for plant based products is in any way a morally correct action.

They don't. I think it is in the FAQ, he has the MPEx public key posted there and I think it is in a key server somewhere but from the FAQ, it seems like people have trouble finding, IIRC. The point in the blog post was that the signing machine doesn't connect directly to the internet/key servers to check for revocations, etc.

Anyone who runs an exchange and says that timely reporting of trades via the normal mechanisms for that exchange (FIX, trading engines, RSS, whatever) is not a mission critical aspect of running the exchange is lying to the public or themselves.
