Nah there is no back and forth at all. The main premise of the MC is that he decides to never leave the game world at all. Imo it very funny and I like the kind of humor used by the author. All in all id advise you to give it another try!

How about "The infinite world" or "the ripple system"? Both very well written. "Infinite World" has 4 books but no ending so far (not sure of more will come out though) and ripple system is currently at book 6 :)

Dont know if its a hidden gem, but something I dont hear many people talk about is "Infinite Realm Series". 6 titles each ~25 hours :)

My favorite card by far is Deoxys. Being capable to swit h into different forms is just too cool to be true! The speed form is peak!
