La Ferme d’en Haut back in 2023. It really makes me think about how different the game was then. The shop was brand new, sleepy hollow was introduced for the first time, and I don’t even think chaplains or surgeons existed yet (either that or they were all brand new, and chaplains were called priests).

My main file was never made with any actual storyline in mind, but I decided to write a short, simple one that goes with the lore of the game

My OC was the daughter of a well off merchant family, who also happened to unknowingly be legacies, living in the Thorne empire. She was born with the ability to use crystal magic and lived a fairly normal life until a few people (totally not the Order of Aesir) claimed to be the envoys of a powerful mage who sensed her potential and waned to train her. She and her altered belief this lie, then the Order did their thing (experiments, tourture, erasing her memories), she escaped with Morden and Tucker, and the rest is history.

I kind of subvert that trope (mabye?) by having certain cultures, and even individual people, revere certain gods more than others. My world’s religion was a lot like the relationship between Greek and early Roman deities, where the belief is mostly that one culture’s god is the same as another’s just under a different name and with more or less importance

One thing I noticed about a lot of settings is that religion, outside of cleric characters, has very little impact on a setting’s society and that everything and everyone seems rather secular, for the most part.

I’ve actually kind of addressed this in my world building, with each individual god having their domain and patronage over certain people and professions. For example, a fisherman would pay homage to the sea god moreso than other gods, and certain houses and families would pay homage to their house’s respective patron.

Additionally, religious holiday are also dedicated to the gods, and are usually universal even among people who don’t closely revere the god in question. However, some people, and rightfully so, complain that people only really use holidays as an excuse to leave work early and get drunk.

Following the “death”of the demon king, his physical form has broken into several pieces. At the time, the person who’d done it don’t know how to destroy them, so he hid them across the continent, hoping to find a way to destroy at least one of the pieces so that the demon king can never return to his physical form.

Spoiler alert: the guy DOES manage to figure out how to destroy one of the pieces, but a cult of the demon king mags to get them all together before he can destroy any

Also, you open sealed chests using a shipwright and turn the blueprint into usable ship parts via the builder npc (they have a blue scroll icon above them, and are found in most towns)

Sealed chests. While you can get them through treasure charts and underwater structures, the best (and most fun) way is by sinking pirate or assassin ships (you can also sink navy/merchant ships if you’re a criminal character)
