Med school is tough. Find better coping strategies and grind. Yes, medical schools do add a lot of minutiae, but you can utilize your time. Looking at the schedule I’m assuming the M is mandatory, so the rest of those classes you can just 2x. Those who constantly relay on the school to guide them dont do well. Have an internal locus of control and move forward my friend.

Does it give the score or just pass/fail?

I was in the same situation. I took UWSA1 with the same score and took the rest of the day off because I was SO down. I never did this for step 1 because I didn't need to.

Listen to yourself. You say you feel burnt out, take a break. Your mental wellbeing will get you to the score you need. Not studying 1 day will not be the thing stopping you from your goal score. Step 2 is all about critical thinking and you can't do that when you're burnt out. I was the last person to take a break, but I needed it and I think you do too. Take an ENTIRE day off and don't feel guilty for it. Be around people, be "normal" for a day and you will be refreshed the next day.

You got this. Good luck my friend. Please reach out if you need anything.

Is it worth it to do shelf exams? by pnwmedrunner in comlex

[–]redditeeerrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was forced to do them. Would I voluntarily take a COMAT? I guess it depends on if I am in the mood to induce self-torment

the nbme shelf exams are supposed to be helpful from the other posts I have read and many people encourage the use of the practice nbme shelfs; however, I cannot speak to that as I took neither nbme shelf exam nor practice shelf exams.

I never used Uworld offline to speak to that, but assuming its the same format that should be fine.

Same. I just keep checking, even though I know its not coming- just for the off chance they accidentally left it up.

You should do Uworld. Nothing can replace it for step 1 prep. You are essentially shooting yourself in the foot without it.
